Let's see if I can watch/play/read more than 15 things this year.
Episode 7: Good stuff. The overall story moves forward and gives a compelling direction to take things in. I like Nox. We even have the "somebody's in a coma" thing I thought they might do in the first episode (Baku getting Sam Tyler'd back to the 70's would be pretty cool to see next year, NGL)
Episode 6: Rider Prison Break! Kinda. This one is mostly pretty average, and then suddenly WHAT ‼️⁉️ I have no idea where they're going with this, but they've got my attention. Don't want to say any more than that, just watch it.

And I saw the thing that attachment claw did, show.
Admittedly it's more in a classic movie serial "we split up this really long story across 13 weeks" vein than "we have spent months coming up with LORE DAMN YOU and you will watch it", but you can see an approach that will carry over to Rider. 70's shows usually closed episodes with つづく for a reason
There was a movie in like 2001 that I haven't gotten around to and an anime or two I think. The 60's TV series is mind-blowing though. Masaru Igami solos a highly serialized show in an era when tokusatsu is largely still self-contained eps (or Magma Taishi's "like Doctor Who I guess" approach)

If I could get a boost for what few items I’ve got on eBay I’d appreciate it, I simply haven’t been able to get to stuff to put up other things.

action/platformer speedruns: yea we have to do 100 frame perfect tricks to clip through all these sections and it's all skill based and precise practice and speed

old jrpg speedruns: WE HAVE TO TORTURE THE GAME BY RIPPING ITS SOUL OUT AND REPLACING IT WITH DR MARIO TO FORCE IT TO DO OUR BIDDING
Yes I picked up the Uchuusen issue that has them all written in English, I just haven't read it yet 😎
Episode 5: Pretty good wrap-up to the VIP bride storyline and debut of [I haven't learned all the names yet so it's the blue shooty one] form. Also glad they did something that I would usually expect to see take much longer to get to. The show moves leisurely, but things are always happening in it.
Episode 4: The long Kamen Rider traditions of wedding interruptions and/or fighting in church continue. We also finally have the outro as an intro. And the obligatory "hey, here are some new toys, 7" scene. It's half of the story so we'll see how next week goes, but again, so far so good.
Called it!

As much as I want a 1984 RideWatch, I’m glad ZX’s has 1982 AS IT SHOULD
It's paper, but good quality photo paper, and they have laminators available to protect it. The Diner has done the placemats before and had a similar set-up. For a while that was the freebie if you chose Sentai instead of the Rider coaster/dish combo. I mainly used them as posters.
With each item you order (apart from the drink that comes with the table charge) you also get a random coaster. I ended up with Steiner, Garnet, Vivi, Salamander (Amarant) and my MVP Ratchel herself.

Lastly, they had some space where you could leave a post-it note message, which I did.

Worth it!🌹
And for food, “Lindblum’s Traditional Hunting Cuisine” (steak) and “Garnet Til Alexandros XVII’s Favorite Pink Pudding” (pudding w/ lots of fruit and cream). Don’t worry, you order everything through QR code with your phone, so you don’t have to remember all that.
For drinks, I tried Beatrix (tea flavored with blackcurrant and rose) Steiner (black sesame milk with cream, chocolate, etc) Vivi (ice cocoa with black espuma, you can also get it hot) and most important of all, Freija (aka Freya, cranberry and grapefruit juice).
If you plan on going, the menu is changing at the end of October so some items won’t be around for the renewal (which runs until December). Also, there is a 1200 yen table charge, but you get a drink (including collabo items) and a random placemat after paying at the end. Also, be sure to reserve.
I went to the Square Enix Pop Up Cafe currently featuring the Final Fantasy IX 25th Anniversary limited menu. This is a collabo with Pasela (as in Kamen Rider the Diner) and it was a similar level of quality (re: great) if a little more low-key, being a temporary spot. Not cheap, but well worth it.
Episode 3 justified making this story a two-parter. If the introduction of Kamen Rider's motorcycle isn't the big conclusion, the actual big conclusion had better have some HIGH stakes. And this does! I'm curious what this show will look like in another 10-15 episodes, but it's acing the beginning.
I've only heard about it, but it looks pretty neat!
-Amemiya considered it a difficult film to realize, but liked the end result and gives A LOT of credit to Takeya.
-And finally, more of an observation: More time has passed between 1995 and now than between 1972 and 1995. 😱
-Sega was the main sponsor for the film (not Bandai) so there was no contemporary merchandise from them. When Takeya went on to work on the S.I.C. line, the Hakaider ended up resembling his movie version somewhat (although not completely by intent, but that was a story “too long to share”!)
