When we moved we only took our mattresses, two camp chairs and three folding tables with us. There just wasn't room for anything else.

Today we got a table and chairs. So now I have a place to work that isn't the floor.

I know I'll get back to them. But also, I've found myself needing less and less in my practice. My witchcraft comes from my intention, from my creativity, and from my heart. There may come a day I move on from needing even this rock to ground me in my magic. Until then, I'll keep it close to me.

Most of my stuff is still in a storage unit, including all the herbs and other items I foraged from the mountains and plains ow Wyoming. It will be months before we can get back there to get all the rest. I don't feel as unsettled as I would have before, leaving those things behind.

Now that we're unpacking, I'm going to set it out under the moonlight to cleanse and then reconsecrate it for the new place. This chunk of rock has joined a handful of other belongings that will always move with me. When I pull it out and set it up, I know I've truly moved into a place.

As a witch, I have a lot of magical artifacts, materia magica, accessories, and more. But when moving halfway across the country, you can't take all of that with you. This is one of those things that made the move with us. It's a piece of Wyoming sandstone I foraged for a hearth stone.
