My local independent book shop had blind date books. I saw this and immediately knew what it was. Score!

I did not say anything to this person about editing it down. The assignment does have a word count maximum, and they went way over it. They forgot themselves.

My friend is tickling me with her Nativity scene. When she bought their skin was white, so she painted it brown, but over the years it has faded, so she repainted it. She did a good job. Baby Jesus looked moisturized like a chocolate honey bun with rosey cheeks lol

From our magazine: Daddy doesn’t live in Clint anymore. He’s in an assisted living facility in the city, El Paso, but he visits for family gatherings. Each time, he asks his daughters “¿Mijas, y mi pueblo?”

I need 45 copies of The Reformatory for next semester, so I can teach it in my history class lol.

Read the assignment instructions and then read the essay. Without even getting into the argument made, you can see why they failed. They did not follow directions.

My friend wrote a book that will be out on March 20th, and I know it would lift her mood considerably if she could get some pre-orders. Her book is $3.99 on Kindle. 💙📚

They can't read well. K to 12 have been forced to pass students along. Giving them 50s when it should be 0 because they did nothing. Giving them worksheets instead of books. Cell phones way too early. I think people thought these kids wouldn't go to college but they are and they are not prepared.
I've never encountered more students who say they hate reading. Students who want to be teachers, writers, or both. I wonder if "hate" means "I have trouble reading," but I also talk with so many students who write in a genre but refuse to read in it. They can't see themselves in relation to others.

An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.
