I know I'm a baby but I beat Claire's story in RE2R like 6 months ago, and I liked it, but I still haven't done Leon's because I never want to see a licker ever again in my life
I spent a long time thinking I wasn't good enough at video games in general to even try harder action games, because they get framed as games for Ultimate Pro Gamers Only, but I constantly surprise myself with how often I get through sections that felt impossible 30 minutes ago
I think people tend to play up the difficulty of these games because they want bragging rights, but the thing is, they're still games, the devs want you to succeed, and I find most of the time they're less about godly execution and more about patience and taming your base instincts, it's ego death.
anyway no real conclusion to this thread other than i get where the tension comes from, i have been both the elitist snob and the gatekept noob at different points in my life, but i think these games (your ninja gaidens, final fights etc) are easier to get into than the arguing online make them seem
My favorite part of Legends ZA is that metronome has no cooldown, you can actually just spam it
Thanks! I spent like an hour just going through all the shops lol
I think it makes sense to speed up the battles when you speed up the catching, but it def makes them feel less impactful. It works in a game like this where battles are one component of a larger, rapid gameplay loop, but I think you'd lose a lot if you tried to do this in the traditional style
Within 2 minutes of meeting you: hey kid, have you finished that research yet? Not getting any younger over here
LMFAO
oh these motherfuckers know EXACTLY what they're doing with this character, huh

And like the individual dialogue is still fun, I like the characters well enough, but its missing the tightly knit, brisk pacing of the first, and that's especially disappointing because the way Hades 2 builds upon the gameplay of 1 is honestly just incredible, it's so much fun to play...
In Hades 1, the repetition is the entire point of the story, it's written around the roguelike structure, whereas the sequel often feels like it's bending the plot to justify why nothing ever changes
A lot of it is directed at the ending, which has several baffling decisions, but I also think it's harder to positively depict the greek gods when the game is trying to be a more serious tale of vengeance, vs the first game's tongue-in-cheek workplace comedy driven by family drama

I didn't know about this Signal For Help hand gesture until today. I'm quite sure that a lot of other people don't know it either (as demonstrated in this video). If you just learned it now too then it was worth posting.

Ares is to Hades 2 as Artemis was to Hades for me, I take him 9 out of 10 times I see him
