I can't help but wonder . . . what has the notoriously corrupt FIFA already gotten (or hopes to get) in exchange for its silly award to flatter the perpetually needy Donald Trump?

It’s really simple…

- Cap all political donations
- Ban foreign donations
- Strict conflict‑of‑interest & anti‑corruption laws with penalties
- No titles, honours or peerages for donors
- No govt contracts for donors
- Publish every donation/lobby meeting

…that’ll do it.

Trump threatened ICE raids at the World Cup. I wonder if the silly "FIFA Peace Prize" was to buy him off so he wouldn't interfere. Both FIFA & Trump are so corruptly transactional, it would work that way. Or course, money may have changed hands, too.

It’s the worst of privatisation, alongside the water industry - a rip off of the public by private monopolies owners overseas. Worst part is we have a regulator that enables it.

It is wrong, these foreigners owned monopolies are making 40% profit margins, shipping 10s of billions out of our country in dividends and now we have to pay them to upgrade ’their’ networks.

Himes: It was exceedingly hard to watch. Even if you stipulate that it is a war, there is a very specific prohibition against killing individuals who have been removed from the fight. And there is no question that these individuals were removed from the fight.
