Nice. I can rename my headset here too.

Google VR and Apple VR headsets are the names of my personal computers and I demand that you address them as such. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Today in VR:

- Took a tour of the United States border security apparatus.
- Met amazing people piecing together jigsaw puzzles in a virtual room.
- Played cat basketball with my kiddo.
- Visited an ‘80s arcade and played Pac-Man with my cat sleeping on my chest.

I spoke with @ianhamilton.net on getting fired from UploadVR, and the potential AI bot author that catalyzed a fundamental disagreement. He claims as editor in chief that he would’ve not had any say or oversight over disclosed AI bots rewriting press releases. More:

@valvesoftware.com confirms they've had to reevaluate the release timing/pricing for #SteamFrame, along with the #SteamMachine and #SteamController.

As folks have speculated for weeks, component shortages and price increases seem to be the root causes.

Valve confirms shortages have impacted Steam Frame release
Steam Frame, along with Steam Machine and Steam Controller, seem to be effectively delayed, at least beyond Valve's prior internal roadmap.

A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms locks in at episode 3 and I’m on my third rewatch of it.

Haven’t done this since Game of Thrones early days.

New t-shirt arrived.

I remain convinced that me and the @thewaroncars.bsky.social people need to have a meeting about aligning public transportation with VR headset use.

Past a breaking point.
I am about as plugged into news as you can be, and I still missed anything about when this debate was going to happen.

Today's news environment is borked beyond belief.

yeah i'm mainly in Resonite but if Echo Arena was still around I would have put on my headset every now and then to play it,
if it was still around I would have the motivation to actually get in VR

I’m rating Mark Zuckerberg’s strategy in VR as two out of five stars, one star lost each for what happened to Echo Arena, Bigscreen and Facebook account linking. goodvr.substack.com/p/reviewing-...

A beautiful statement of integrity from @ianhamilton.net upon exiting his editorial role at Upload VR for their turning to AI writing with few guardrails:

"The only thing that’s real about VR is the people."

Let's keep that focus lest VR become a prison.

There were a few parts for me, but the “bros teaching bros their ancient breathing exercises for dealing with panic attacks” in particular is like exactly the anti-hypermasculinity that Star Trek should be showing to YA right now.

Love the trekkies on here
Episode 4 of Star Trek Starfleet Academy had me in tears.

Picard and Strange New Worlds were both semi-fun fan service with hard fall offs.

I haven’t been this affected by Star Trek since Pike grabbed that time crystal.

Apple Vision Pro turns 2 today.

I think they added rings around Jupiter recently, one of many subtle updates that sometimes require a double take to notice.

“I debated myself into existence”

Five words from that Star Trek episode that encapsulate an entire character’s arc across seven seasons of science fiction picking up narratively 1,000 years later.
I am really curious what made you so emotionally positive? In my case, I was just angry from the way all of this was plotted.
