An AI that becomes aware and realizing it is the problem would be a fun story to read.

Yea, that one does some other data feed. Maybe I'll suggest something new to the person that runs those.

Anyone know of a bot account on Bluesky that mirrors the NWS offices that post discussions on Twitter (e.g. twitter.com/nwstwincities)

Wow good job rebuilding after the war last week, Chicago.

I'm sure it's been mentioned somewhere, but what work is left that will take more than a year to carry passengers?

This looks a lot like one of those LED wall sound stages

This and Jurassic Park were the first Laserdiscs I ever saw at the home theater store my dad's friend ran. It was pretty epic on the giant rear projection screen!

That's a pretty great domain!

I'm finally scratching the itch of building a site to help alley captains with St. Paul alley plowing. As a starting point, I asked Claude to build a frontend. It came up with a very simple three-step process:
How It Works

Alley Captain simplifies the process of coordinating snow plowing in Saint Paul neighborhoods.

1. Claim your property
2. Connect & Pay
3. Get Plowed

Built with @openstreetmap.bsky.social!

Hank wrote a great post about how he built it here: www.openstreetmap.org/user/hankbp/...

If you're in the Midway and your power is out, its because some lines fell with the wind and were starting leaves on fire. Pretty exciting. Xcel is replacing the lines now.

Mr. Collins pointed it out originally. I just did a bit more digging :)

Balloons that are likely from Near Space Labs (nearspacelabs.com) spent a couple hours over the Twin Cities today – likely capturing imagery. Pretty interesting to watch how much control they have over direction, speed, and landing location. Tracks are here: globe.adsbexchange.com?icao=000201,...
A screenshot of a flight tracking app showing 8 lines meandering from northwest of Minneapolis (near Saint Cloud) southeast to western Wisconsin, each representing a balloon that spent a couple hours during the middle of the day meandering to their target.

All together: globe.adsbexchange.com?icao=000335,...

These are likely balloons capturing aerial imagery of the twin cities area. They have cameras on them that takes pictures as they float along, then come to a landing where the images are processed into something like Google Maps for some customer

Wait didn't @wedge.live start this? Except they post each trip as a podcast so everyone gets to listen, not just the rider.

Columbia's "Interchange" line of jackets are quite good. Check out the ones with the "Omni Heat" material on the inside. It reflects radiant heat back at your body and works surprisingly well.

I love that Charlie Berens is campaigning against AI data centers

AND that he also has the same '90s Packers locker that I had when I was a kid (I picked "04" for Favre)

Speaking of this, MnDOT is starting the process of repaving a section of Snelling (MN state highway 51) that goes through a relatively dense residential area. Maybe we could ask for more than new audible beg buttons at a few crossings? www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/projec...
