After eight and a half hours in hospital yesterday I’m so grateful that she is okay. She is the #love of my life and yesterday was a hard one but our family gathered to help and we got her #home after treatment.

I #always was #enough, even when my mind said otherwise and nearly stopped my life altogether. #Happiness and a solid future ahead with my family and wife now feels a million miles from that place. #Sobriety has showed me so much about myself which I now work on everyday.

It’s persistent in the fight for you that matters in #sobriety.
I admire anyone in this position, I’ve found it hard but it’s so worth it and wish everyone the best in their journey.

I’m four years and five months #sober.
It still hits me sometimes.
I’m not saying all the time by any means but definitely still happens but of course we are all different and I’d never try to say to newbies anything that would discourage.

My first drink I took would mean I couldn’t refuse the next and then the next and so on, that drink would destroy my happiness.
We can only say no the first time.

What you don’t see is every advert for booze, anytime they’re drinking on a program or you’re out with people drinking even after years of #sobriety you get cravings.
You have to be #stronger than them.

#Sobriety is a #hard #journey, not the giving drink up part but you remember the mistakes and hard times and face hard times still but with a more clear head.
It’s #WorthIt, life is #happier and truly you begin seeing a better #future.

I made her and my wife a promise I’d stop drinking the same day we lost her and haven’t had a drink since, it’s been hard but I hope somehow she’s proud.
