And since I'm posting about Terry, I should let you know he has a kickstarter running for this How To Draw book.
From my book How To Draw 2026. On Kickstarter now. Want to see more? Check it out, support it if you can and you will also be able to order a new Rachel Rising story! www.kickstarter.com/projects/ter...
And now I have to track down Jeff Smith's RASL.
Several things I love about this video, not the least of which is how it makes me want to pull out examples from my own collection to share with Terry.

Also, it's great to look at art through the eyes of an artist who is a fan of the work. They point out things you might not have considered.
There is only one box of comics in my studio, filled with only my favorite comics and artists who inspire me. Come over to my house and let's look through them together! www.youtube.com/watch?v=E85p...
It's important to check how high the grey has creeped so when I say "I've had it up to here!" I know where to gesture.
It may seem silly to elaborate like this but, for me, it's a pretty bright line that I don't think should be crossed.
I don't want to make the choice between my anime friends who don't like manga and my manga friends who don't like anime. Assuming that I can properly diagnose that as the problem without knowing who's downvoting what.

I'm for damn sure not going to keep two accounts to keep the feeds separate.
Social media just doesn't scale well, which means there is a limit to how good and useful an open forum like Bluesky can be.

But limiting what we see based on our mutual's tastes diminishes the service and abdicates responsibility.
I dont' swear much, but this news warranted it.

I get it curating your personal feed is difficult. It takes patience, persistance, good tools, and more than a littel trial and error.

And when it comes to moderation, nothing is going to beat small, focused communities.
Stop.
Fucking.
With.
Our.
Feeds.

More nuance in how I define what I want to see? OK.
Letting my friends dislikes influence what I see? Fuck off.
“As users ‘dislike’ posts, the system will learn what sort of content they want to see less of. This will help to inform more than just how content is ranked in feeds, but also reply rankings.”

They don't understand an economy not based on the Rube Goldberg machine of collecting interest on money they already "own".
Solid 3 out of 5 from me.
And that's really the whole movie... An affirmation of humanity and little else. If it was nothing more than a beautiful music video for the NIN score, I would have been content, but they ended out something more and refused to ruin what they did have with too much dialogue and undeserved romance.
Saw Tron Ares yesterday and it was... Pretty good? I think its simplicity saved it. If it was over explained or overwrought... If the leads fell in love... Any of that could have ruined it. Instead, an abused AI sees an empathetic person and sees that life can be better, and chases that dream.
The new Florence and the Machine album is out today and that's my musical initerary on repeat, thank you.
It felt like she just set her diary to music and let it fly.
Done!

Obviously, I'm not going to ruin it for anyone, but...

It was a quiet movie until the last 5 min or so. Until then, I was still wondering what the wow factor was going to be. The movie delivered.

It wasn't the most disturbing end I've seen, but it may have been the most fitting, creepy fun.
I'm have expecting an allegory for school shooting by way of alien abduction
I appreciate that some movies, you have to go in blind and that social media didn't ruin this one for me.

I didn't dare look anything up in advance to see what I am sitting down for.
I can be weird about horror movies. I like a lot of subgenres, but some stuff I'll only watch in the daytime or with someone.

Given how little I know about Weapons, I intended to do both.

But that's not the way it worked out, so here I go!
