A gentle bamboo water feature from a garden in Kyoto.
Qobuz is excellent, have been using it since 2020. Lossless for classical is great, and so far as I can see has pretty much the same catalog as Spotify. Good ‘Discover’ function for all the latest releases.
But .. but .. you only just finished doing up the last one! Or was that @rolypeck.bsky.social ? Whereabouts are you?
So sorry. It’s so difficult when you don’t know what might have happened. 😢
Happy to remain anglo on that one!
Lovely! Except perhaps the tripes.
Ah! Bah non - le monte meuble, ca c'est essentielle.
This was my favourite Citroen DS from the 70th anniversary rally yesterday. And yes, those are confused tourists milling aorund outside the Louvre yesterday morning. We were all kicked out, after they discovered the theft, just in time to see the rally. Interspersed with police motorbikes. #Louvre
And to add to the drama, the 70th Anniversary rally for Citroen DS was rumbling past outside, intermingled with police.
We were actually IN the Louvre when it happened. At the David exposition (which is fabulous, BTW). Everyone got shepherded out of all of the galleries then kettled at the exit. Not great for my claustrophobia. None of the staff would say what was happening apart from "exceptional circumstances".
Actually a monte meuble, kind of motorised furniture heist you see all over Paris - the lifts are too small to move anything larger than a bedside cabinet. We were in the Louvre at the David exhibition as this was going on! Got kettled at the exit for 15 mins until we were all allowed out again.

The BBC are accidentally running the subtitles to Mrs Marple over the Mercury Prize, and it’s rather wonderful. A few of lines could plausibly have been written by Jarvis.
Yes, I know Germans were fascists. But during the war, the enemy was 'Germany'.That's the point I was trying to make. and I know she'd likely vote Reform because she wasn't keen on brown people. I'm also not sure she'd see herself and Dad as part of the 'greatest generation', either.
My mother ran the bombes (basic decoding computers) for Enigma during WW2. The enemy to her was Germans, not fascism. I'm pretty certain she'd now vote for Reform's anti-immigrant policies (in the UK) - if she was still alive.
Hi. Seems like I need to make some more steps to save my Merlin recordings to ebird? Do I need a Cornell account? Thank you.
I love using Merlin. It heard (though I couldn’t see) a short-toed treecreeper in the Jardins de Ranelagh yesterday. But I had no idea it was so useful to scientists.
As a county bird recorder I can honestly say that the best and easiest way for you to make your birding count, is to upload them to either eBird or BirdTrack. Doing so contributes directly to #ornithology and bird #conservation at both local and national levels.

The remarkable rise of eBird – the world’s biggest citizen science project
In 2002, an online database was set up allowing birdwatchers to record their species observations. It is now a vast resource, shaping scientific research.

The Fishing Wren
This bird is spending an increasing amount of time hunting for water shrimps & other aquatic invertebrates.
This feeding behaviour seems to be a feature of the autumn & winter months, despite the garden being full of spiders & Crane Flies at the moment.
Sound on.

I lived in Beverley for years and had no idea about the Butter Dings!
More like bloquons rien here in the 16th. Seems like the most successful multi-party movements are the ones which farmers support. Looked to me, last time I went through there, that Pro-Palestine demos ('manifs') have been getting more people out into Place de la Republique than the bloquons.
