We were supporting our member Gloria at the High Court this morning. She has a Judicial Review against Lewisham council who have stolen 18 months of her housing waiting list time😡

Thanks to our amazing HASL members for vital court support!🤗✊

We should receive the decision in a few weeks time.
Sharing a delicious Braza de Reina cake at our busy meeting today to celebrate our member's new 3 bed council home 😋🥳

Our incredible organiser Fowsiyo has been fighting tirelessly to get justice after the tragic death of her sister Ayaan.
An inquest has heard that failures in care ‘caused or contributed’ to the death of Ayaan Ali Waeys, 35, two weeks after she gave birth to a stillborn daughter. Her family believe discrimination led to missed warning signs.

📰Just published! Our report on Jacqueline's legal challenge last week mailchi.mp/5755f3765738...
We were supporting our member Jacqueline this morning for her legal challenge against Southwark council.

Her unaffordable rent is leaving her with debts but the council refuse to recognise that she is homeless😠

We are still waiting on the judgement but we will keep you updated.

Over 1.6m children are now impacted by the Two-Child Limit - 11.6% of all children

This is a cruel policy that unnecessarily drags children into deeper levels of hardship

It needs to go, and the longer it is kept, the greater the scarring effects on children's health and education will be
30 degrees and still fighting the housing crisis!🥵💪💪Thanks so much to all our committed organisers and members for joining our meeting this morning with some travelling across London!

And the Universal Credit bill has passed. Some of the sickest people in the country will suffer needlessly more now. There is no justification, no excuse. Just ugly, cruel choices by ministers too cowardly to tax the wealthy rather than cut the poor. A shameful day for Starmer’s Labour.
Our amazing HASL organisers at our debrief meeting after our busy Saturday meeting - can you spot our 2 month old member who slept throughout the debrief? 👶

Over half of a London borough’s larger council homes were let to families outside of the bidding system in the second half of last year.

A housing support group says it means there is 'no guarantee' council homes are going to those most in need.
