Of course, that's true. But it's even more than taxes. Without oil refined into gasoline, drivers will have a tougher time driving to work or wherever they want to go. Prices at the pump are rising. Rationing has kicked in. Transport of everything is a problem. Coal's another big problem.

The leader sets the tone. Trump is just as crude, boorish, bigoted, and malicious. His example creates a sense of approval. It is part of the GOP identity to be vile towards others in thought, words, and deeds.

They make a number of relocations and stops. If they need to do a combat sortie on Ukraine, they fly to Engels-2 from Ukrainka (~6000 km, with Il-78 support), then to Olenya Air Base (~2000 km with no Il-78 support). They perform the actual combat sortie from Olenya Air Base after which they return.
