I wonder if they used debugging to quickly compile screenshots like this.

But Fables has similar promotional screenshots of really low HP and TP in mid-late chapters and I can only assume screenshots like these are achieved through debugging.

I kinda wish this room didn't have enemies and just let you take in the music as a moment of rest before you get to Bowser's castle. I know you also get that in Star haven but idk, I like quiet moments of rest before the final act.

This first tierlist is just a comparison between both versions of the gamecube songs so I won't say a lot about it now but I also think it's really cool how there's a second version of this theme in the remake for the final rematch.

Goddddd Doopliss's theme is such a banger. That organ section in the original is catchy as hell.

While I still think the remake's version is better, I think this, as well as Hooktail and the Shadow Sirens theme are standouts in '04's usually weak boss music lineup.

And of course, the remake makes it even better. Replacing the spooky organ with a synth sounds like an odd choice on paper (mario) but it actually works so well. The the way they extend the loop sounds incredible too.

Twilight Trail received an even bigger glow up than I remember. Nails the spooky atmosphere much better and has better sounding instrumentation.

We all love Bobbery but I think Jolene's arc is really good too. God chapter 3 is incredible.

Macho Grubba's battle theme using the motif from normal Grubba's theme was really cool. I wish these older Paper Mario games hsed motifs like this more.

Grubba's theme (both versions) are some of my favorite Paper Mario songs. They immediately convey that Grubba is suspicious and that their might be more to him than we realize.

Besides the standard battle theme, the difference between the battle themes on GameCube and Switch is night and day. TTYD '04 had one of the weakest lineups of battle music in the series imo, the remake carries these songs so hard.
