Highly recommend looking up the photos from the mission! Here’s my favourite space photo ever, in which Earth & Moon, Mars, Venus, Titan, Enceladus, and other cool features are visible. (There’s versions where people have labelled things in the image, too)

Cassini, a 20-year probe mission to Saturn, 13 years of which were spent there. Had a lander that parachuted to Titan’s surface and discovered its liquid methane lakes, and the orbiter discovered ocean worlds in our own solar system. Probably the most scientifically significant space mission ever.

So the fact you came all the way to Japan to tell me these things makes me very happy I worked on the game all those years ago.

I have no doubt you can write those music models prompts like ‘generate me Chinese music’ in the same way you can command them to generate Rock & Roll, or Blues. But it’s all the same awful thing.

We already had a name for the mass theft of art and culture for the benefit of the few in power: Cultural Appropriation.

I guess the generative media industry just wanted to prove that it’s possible to appropriate one’s own culture, too.

Seriously, he was already watching the iFixit teardown and considering an RMA when I asked him if he’d thwacked it yet. (We’d tried compressed air.)
I believe he put a thin piece of cloth or something on the floor, and gave it a solid few knocks. Not too violent, just enough that it feels wrong.
