Why the double standard?
When a Deaf event happens, why is it that non-signers automatically get free interpreting service — but Deaf people have to request interpreters every single time we need access?

I’m SO sick of those who posted about how inequity and injustice happen here in USA; yet, there’s no plans. We are doomed for more 4 years! The first 100 days were not positive for Americans but there’s no plans yet! I give up and Trump gets what he wants — nothing more. He’s winning ahead of us! 🖕🏽

Reframing the Koko Myth. Koko the gorilla knew some signs—but she wasn’t fluent in ASL. The real issue? Society assumed that if a gorilla could “learn” ASL, the language must be simple.That assumption isn’t just wrong—it’s dismissive of a rich, complex human language&the Deaf community that uses it.

I'm grateful every day for being able to grow fruits and vegetables in my backyard. The picture above shows some red flower buds that will soon sprout into pomegranates. Last summer, there was only one flower bud, but this year there are at least five or more. I'm so happy. #mybackyard #pomegrantes
