It has put orgs and people who work with unhoused people on the back foot for sure! The right has reframed the way a lot of people look at homelessness and not at all in a good way.

It is going to take time and real work with people in our communities to begin to undo those perceptions.
Well, yes I do think that homelessness and drug policy discourse over the past few years has been under a sustained attack from billionaire funded disinfo PR and political operatives to change public opinion and they’ve been very successful with that.

Tonight like every night on 60 Minutes our contributors, matt taibi, Lara Logan, Jesse singal, megyn kelly, Megan mcain, michael shellenberger, and andy ngo talk about all the times people were mean to them in the internet.
Michael Shellenberger wants to re-psychopathologize gender incongruence. Shellenberger even has a “Director of Gender” hate at his organization & has staffers deeply embedded in the SPLC designated anti-GLBT hate group, Genspect. Michael Shellenberger is the face of modern day anti-trans extremism.
Genspect has released a statement saying they are going to push for the Re-Psychopathologization of Gender Incongruence. This will happen to whole LGBTQIA+ community if we don’t fight. ✊🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈
The people supporting these designated hate groups who it has become increasingly obvious want to institutionalize trans and nonbinary people in “rehabilitation” work camps all have names. One of those names is Michael Shellenberger.

He also has a pretty ludicrous view of how to deal with global warming and climate change. He wrote a book about it that has received significant critique. Shocker, he thinks the corporations should be left to their own devices and… magic, it’s solved!

Book review: Bad science and bad arguments abound in 'Apocalypse Never' by Michael Shellenberger » Yale Climate Connections
A new book that critiques environmentalism is deeply and fatally flawed.

A big pusher of the "wind kills whales" narrative is Michael Shellenberger, who claims that research proving it has been suppressed (it hasn't). In standard Shelly fashion, he cherry picks facts His old pals at the Breakthrough eviscerated his "film" on it: thebreakthrough.org/journal/no-2...
No, Offshore Wind Will Not Drive Right Whales Extinct

Those researchers are now being threatened with lawsuits and funding cuts if they don't pull their research down...always the sign of a good-faith argument, no? More here: drilled.media/news/podcast...

Nuclear's comeback was never going to happen 'naturally'. People like Michael Shellenberger require fascism, dictators and safety-worsening deregulation to see their dreams realised.

This new thing involves Palantir btw. How cool
Rachel Pritzker already invested heavily in Michael Shellenberger to the point where he likely wouldn’t have been around to land the Twitter files without that financial support. So, I sincerely hope you’ll all forgive me if I’m a bit skeptical about that working out well for us.

Takes 0.001 newtons of force to nudge a centrist to support far-right, but the quickest way to do it is to frame things as 'debate' and 'civil disagreement'

As always: the climate delayers have been doing it for decades, eg Michael Shellenberger and Bjorn Lomborg

As you note, this is Shellenberger spreading it over on Twitter to some success. Vaccine denial papers also get less attention here than over there.

I had an engagement with blogger, failed California gubernatorial candidate, and self-identified reporter Michael Shellenberger this past week, which started out being about this new paper being heralded by climate skeptics as disproving global sea-level acceleration. (LONG 🧵)

And now he's happily retweeting a government official trying to punish someone for their protected speech. And it gets basically no attention, and people will still refer to Shellenberger as a "free speech warrior."

I mentioned that exact same retweet in my post about Clay Higgins. Shellenberger spent years claiming that literally the most benign attempt by a gov't official to merely *talk* to a platform about content moderation was the world's worst attack on the 1st Amendment

Shellenberger’s upcoming book is all about how the left, Dems and mainstream institutions are part of a narcissistic, psychopathic, ‘pathocracy’ and he’s been dehumanizing unhoused people since his last book San Fransicko came out.
No, sadly but he is in Austin at the fake uni for at least 3 months each year.
