Last of the decorations up! We thought about adding lights to this pinecone garland, but I kind of like the simplicity since I have already crammed so much on top of these shelves!

Holiday cheer has arrived! @snellis.bsky.social and I have hung the things, lighted the night, and decorated the tree with (hopefully) cat proof goods! So far only Gary seems impressed.

Things are starting to get festive around here! Tree finally has lights, hopefully some cat safe ornaments today, and wrapping is almost complete! Gary was not a very good helper but he gets points for enthusiasm. #caturday

Camellia blooms joining the show today are Yuletide and Buttermint. Yuletide have a rough season a bit ago and it is good to see it recovered. Buttermint is blooming a bit early this year, as a camellia that really struggles with our rain usually causing bud to go brown and soggy before blooming. 🌱

Garden today! @snellis.bsky.social got the raised beds housing the plants for the hell bed replanting covered, the witch hazel has begun to bloom, and smells fantastic, and another camellia has joined the bloom party!

Camellias Showa-No-Sakae, Sinensis, and Little Pearl still blooming their hearts out! Today I saw a hummingbird visiting them which was a first for me! 🌱

Garden kitty decided to join us at work today. Not usually one for the office, he has discovered it contains a cat tree of its own.

It's mum season! A bouquet of mixed flowers and greens from the garden, mums in a two part vase, and a bloom of little pearl camellia. 🌱

My start to Novella November! 💙📚

Cut back hydrangeas today to prep for winter. While paniculatas can be pruned in spring (they bloom on new wood) I do an initial cut back in fall to stop branches from snapping under the weight of winter wet.

The fact that #TheArchers is trending on bluesky might just be enough for me to start listening again after 10 years!

@snellis.bsky.social sent me this great picture of the garden kitty enjoying some extra comfort on a chilly day in the garden. Having a garden cat has really changed the way we enjoy and interact with the outdoors. AKA we actually sit and enjoy it more! 🌱

Some shots from around the garden, a toad lily in the sun, a pineapple lily bloom, somehow the crepe myrtle still in bloom, and the miscellaneous fuchsia baskets which were amazing this year! 🌱

I love this time of year when I have roses, dahlias, and camellias all in bloom together! Here are some boggy shots from after the past few days rainstorms.

New baby roses! The green rose, Lady Emma Hamilton, and Chocolate bubbles! These are still very small babies, but I can't wait for them to go up! They are additions this year in preparation for the new rose boarder we hope to put in next spring!

The thing is, every time you defend Newsom as a great candidate and what “we” need, you’re telling trans people that you’re willing to throw them under the bus

You can sit in my mentions and whine about how I’m criticizing Newsom too much and I will continue to highlight how your transphobia sucks
