Update: best biscuits I have ever made. The curse is broken
Made biscuits, forgot to brush butter on top or they'd be prettier. Chanterelle mushroom gravy (spouse is vegetarian) not pictured

Just bought 5 rolls of Cinestill 800T to bring to Lindy Focus to play with. I'm mostly only interested in shooting black and white so I can do fun things in the darkroom with it, and sticking with digital for color work, but this film is neat because it doesn't have an anti-halation layer

The sheer lunacy of wanting to get a 4x5 camera and make platinum contact prints, or god help me wet plate collodion.

I am nearly certainly getting a 4x5 pinhole camera and positive paper to bring to Herräng next summer, along with a bunch of lights

Really hoping folks hire me for more film shoots, I really want an excuse to get a medium format system

The black border around this photo is a bit of a flex, because it means I actually held my camera straight to get that horizon level 😅

Olivia by the Lakeshore '25, 4x6 on 5x7 paper, first edition of three (one for me, one for the model, and one for sale, with or without museum quality framing)

Film is so cool. I overexposed these by ~6 stops (64 times as much light as needed,) the negatives were almost solid. I had to cook the paper under the enlarger for so long I set up a second enlarger so I could keep working on other stuff. But damn, she's glowing
So excited to finally be able to share some of the nudes I shot in Sweden this summer! I cannot decide between these two, do you have a favorite?

One more of Jenny, lying on a dock on a lake near the Baltic Sea in Sweden this summer. Shot on 35mm film, printed in my local darkroom and lightly toned in selenium and gold. I think I'm getting the hang of this fine art nude thing, yeah?

Terminator starts promisingly, being about two naked men on a quest for some trousers, but then goes off in a different direction that isn't as interesting.

Tabling a queer wedding show tomorrow as a boudoir photographer, am all packed up with so much art to show people but have now entered Waiting Mode and ceased being able to function

Snapped a photo through the grain focuser

Olivia walking along the lakeshore in Chicago earlier this summer. Print is washing after fixing, soon to be toned in selenium and the last of my gold chloride.

Man I love playing with film

Once more, into the breach(darkroom)
November 12, 2025 at 2:29 PM
I spent 11 hours in the darkroom today, minus about 30 minutes for the only meal I've eaten today. I forgot to get more behind the scenes stuff. I forgot to drink water. I am exhausted. Excited to go back Wednesday for more

Selenium to warm the print up. The blue tint is the indicator for the archival wash I added in. The selenium converts the silver to silver selenide, which is a rich brown in color and also lasts many times longer without fading, likely hundreds of years.

More darkroom magic, featuring nudes of Jenny shot in Sweden this summer. Doing a lil experiment testing papers and toning so I just made 8 duplicate prints, 4 each of two papers. One pair I'm toning in selenium, one in gold, one in both, and one set is untouched for comparison

Going back into the darkroom tomorrow, this time to print personal work I can share all of, rather than client work I can only share a little of, and not even my absolute favorites. Genuinely some of the best work I've ever done, ready to do it again if anyone wants to meet in Chicago
Absolutely thrilled with how these came out. The slight color cast is from the split toning process, which also fixes the image to last centuries without fading
