More pages of SETTLERS OF THE STORM WORLDS! Free to read on Patreon, though of course yo dollahs are always appreciated.

I'm deep into WITCH HAT ATELIER right now, it rocks the rock house, but as always the making of a book is so different from the reading of one.

If you missed his AMA, @stevelieberart.bsky.social got some good questions while flying back from New York, and actually answered them, check it out

Positive: the bifurcation of markets. There are many more audiences willing to buy & read comics than there were when I broke in, and so many more ways to get them.

Neg: drawing comics used to be a middle-class job. Many publishers now expect artists to live well below the poverty line. #lieberAMA

What changes throughout the years has been the most positive and the most negative for the comics industry, in your opinion?

Here’s my mini poster (4X5 inches) for episode 34 of the Granada Sherlock Holmes series, “the last vampyre”, starring Jeremy Brett. This installment marks the beginning (imo) of the series beginning to meander in ways that don’t serve the audience but there are still moments of brilliance.

Lots of other books signed/sketched books available too, like the deluxe Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen! helioscopepdx.etsy.com/listing/4311... And FYI, the post office is instituting a "congestion pricing surge" for Xmas this year, so if you're getting a gift, maybe place those orders early?

Day 288: Disappointed with the quality of my recent comics, but I'm just going to keep chugging away and posting these dailies because it's kind of the only way to combat the overwhelming, debilitating urge to obsess over my work 🤷‍♀️

god, sometimes I really hate making art. today is sometimes.
2-panel comic drawn in india ink and a sable brush with inkwash shading; top caption says "Some of my favorite horror media (even though I'm a huge wiener)"
Panel 1 shows the video game characters Aya Brea and Melissa Pearce, Aya holding her pistol and Melissa just staring us down. The captions say "Parasite Eve: A horror RPG video game from 1998; I played this game way too young and it changed my brain permanently."
Panel 2 shows a monstrous creature that looks similar to Cerberus but... wetter. The caption says "The soundtrack is so good (done by my queen, Yoko Shimomura) that it distracts me from the constant body horror. Some of the creature designs were inspired by John Carpenter's 'The Thing,' like this mutated dog I have tattooed on my arm."
Beneath the comic is my signature (Kat Baumann) and today's date (10-15-2025)

A recent corporatey commish (commissioned by Albertsons' "Growth Accelerator Program" as a gift for their business partner, Whipstitch Capital.) Thought it came out pretty fun!
Commissioned illustration by me, Tom Rogers. A team of superheroes (the leaders of Whipstitch Capital) fly towards the viewer holding Kombucha and Essentia water (two brands that Whipstitch helped make deals with for Albertsons distribution.) In the background, three individuals (dressed in SHIELD-like attire) with rocketpacks lift an Albertson's truck - these are the sales people of Whipstitch.

LOLLL This reminds me of when Amazon shut down @ohjoysextoy.bsky.social's affiliate account with them and refused to give us the money we had made because they they deemed our site as "porn" (citing specific comics), while THEY WERE SELLING OUR BOOKS WHICH CONTAINED THOSE EXACT SAME COMICS 😂
adactivity.bsky.social
This is cool after the war on everything called “porn” by platforms and payment processors. A machine that stole all your words can generate and sell “erotica” but you can’t haaa
mattburgess1.bsky.social
Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year

Editors looking for queer coming of age stories, you should check out these sample pages of a potential memoir from @terryblas.bsky.social! I would love to read the whole book (a closeted Mormon teen serving his mission in NYC post 9/11 and eventually coming out)!!!

I just want to tell stories, and it's awful feeling like you're being kept from doing that. Anyway, here's the pages if you want to see them. I guess somebody should. 18/?

The great Drew Struzan has passed away. His work was seen and loved by millions of people over decades of making poster art for some of the most classic films ever and went on to inspire countless more creators (myself included) who struggled to capture even a little of his magic for ourselves.

If the right script with a finite story came up, sure! But I wouldn’t be anyone’s first pick for those. I don’t know the lore, and tbh I think both audiences want and deserve art that’s way, way hornier than what I typically do. #lieberAMA

Hey Steve! Would you ever consider drawing a team comic like New Mutants or Legion of Superheroes?

Longtime comic book artist Steve Lieber is doing an AMA!
stevelieberart.bsky.social
Did a joke AMA last week, but now it’s time for a real one. I’m Steve Lieber and I’ve been drawing comic books professionally since 1992. I’m on this flight for the next 5 hours. Ask Me Anything.

For years people told me to do a graphic novel memoir. It took me a long time to agree, my life is just my life, but I guess a book about a gay, biracial, Mexican-American kid growing up in a Mormon & military home in the 90's who then goes on to be a missionary in NYC during 9/11 could be good? 1/?
