Judge Advocate, employment lawyer, best-selling author of Three Amigos fan fiction.
Trump: murders, pardons criminals, tears down White House, sides with Russia, scapegoats minorities, threatens Canada and Greenland, issues demented rants.

US voters: What bothers me is that he hasn't made prices go down.

Deeply curious what happened during Hegseth's show-cause board to make him hate law and lawyers so much. He was an officer: he had TDS counsel to rep him (or he paid someone). The trial counsel must have just wrecked his defense.

This seems topical.
It still kills me that in his confirmation hearing, no one asked for an example of a war crime he thinks troops should be able to commit.
Hegseth: "Maximum lethality -- not tepid legality. Violent effect, not politically correct. We're gonna raise up warriors. Not just defenders."

Holy crap, yes. One thing I see from both pro se litigants and counsel are terrible arguments made to "beat me" rather than to win. I don't really feel sorry for either, since a pro se litigant is guilty of arrogance, and the lawyer is guilty of showboating.
Just one of the many ways in which being an above-replacement-level lawyer means knowing what arguments not to make
Additionally, OpenAI argues its not liable because Raine, by using ChatGPT for self-harm, broke its terms of service

I have never received a text asking me to phone bank, to distribute flyers, to door-knock, or to let me know when my next district Dem meeting is. I have, however, received roughly 5 million texts asking me to donate money or sign a bullshit poll (so far today). 1/4

Do me a favor and forward this post. This needs to get out to everyone. We need to be unified.
Congress, pay attention. We the People decide where our money goes — not the President. And we are demanding full support for Ukraine, with everything they need to win. Trump does not hold the power of the purse. The American people do. Act accordingly.

I know, I know, "flooding the zone with shit works," but there simply is not enough attention being paid to Trump's plan to force Ukraine to surrender to Russia. It's beyond evil. We will all suffer for decades to come if this goes through.

Question for anyone who practiced crim law in fed court: wouldn't this mean Halligan submitted fraudulent documents to the court? Wouldn't this be a potential criminal violation, not just a bar violation?
HUGE development IN hearing for Comey selective prosecution motion, It turns out that the grand jury NEVER saw the operative indictment. Whole separate basis for dismissal. Standby for more.

Kinda weird that Seattle is so out of the picture. Feels wrong.
Bovino: "I'm actually in West Virginia now undergoing training with several hundred border patrol agents, and you're gonna see us redeploy to it could be New York, it could be Chicago, it could be Charlotte."

I guess QAnon was right except for one, tiny, important detail.

Imagine you are a key witness in a Congressional investigation. The White House is openly threatening you. Senate Democrats promise to protect you. Who will you trust in this situation?

Just called both @murray.senate.gov and @cantwell.senate.gov to tell them Schumer must go. No answer at Murray's office: Cantwell's aides seemed utterly unsurprised. The phones must be blowing up - keep at it.
November 10, 2025 at 10:20 PM
Congrats, @murray.senate.gov and @cantwell.senate.gov. You are both old and in power for many more years, and there is nothing we in WA can do to punish you for caving. May You know that voting yes on a CR will ensure you are ridiculed as well as despised by WA Dems.

Winning is great. Just realize that the Trumpists will see this as proof that fair elections must not happen.

Korea vs Japan in Physical: Asia was nuts. I just wanted the ssireum wrestler to stop messing with the judo dude. Like, man: his whole sport is about holding you down. Throw the weakest team member at him and save your biggest guys for the shoving matches.

Why isn't there a restaurant where the only items are things sold at Cosco? It'd have menu items like "street tacos" that are straight from the freezer bins. We'd all know what we were getting and where it came from. The extra cost would be to put it on a nice plate and not having to do the dishes.

In all the conversations Democrats have about how to appeal to white men, has anyone considered that maybe the problem is white men? Liberal, multicultural, progressive politics is good. Country music is not.

So many signs at the No Kings rally, and no one thought to make one that said, "The Only Good Orange King Used to be at 42nd and University." #Seattle

The worst person on Earth got elected to the presidency for a second time, and every branch of government and 40% of the population are doing whatever they can to keep this going.

I generally don't comment when people write what we should do when MAGA is over, since I usually agree and don't want to nitpick, but my sense is that the information environment is task #1. We can't be free if billionaires own all the media.

I'm sure the issues will be resolved under a Democratic president.
Amy Coney Barrett defends heavy use of the shadow docket: "If we wrote a long opinion, it might give the impression that we have finally resolved the issue, and in none of these cases have we finally resolved the issue."

Stuff like this is why guys like Bob Chipman should not be lumped in with YouTube reactors. There is a serious difference in knowledge, analysis and approach.
As someone who (sort of) does the not-fascist version of this for a career, something I've realized is that a lot of these guys are genuine descendants of Andrew Breitbart and think moral/political allegory is just a rhetorical trick you can just do a parts-swap on and make it work just as well.
I can't believe this is real

I'm only a few pages into Piranesi, but so far it's beautiful, imaginative, tense, engrossing, and pretty much perfect. This is, I guess, what it looks like when someone works on their manuscript for 10 years.

People filled swimming pools with concrete rather than share them with minorities.
Empires decline all the time, for all kinds of reasons, but our present moment will be remembered in history books for the sheer volume of *voluntary & pointless self-imposed damage*. We're systematically dismantling what made us great, for no reason! Genuinely, with no rationale! It's wild.
