Trump seal of approval for news seems problematic

Thread. In all 3 presidential elections with Trump on the ballot, the polls had a Democratic bias, although it decreased over time. But that bias was gone in the 2018 and 2022 midterm elections. The bias persisted whenever Trump was on the ballot, and no method of sampling/recruitment prevented it.
Here's the absolute error and the signed error (bias) by level since 2006. As you can see, the last presidential election with an average pro-Republican bias was 2012. A string of 3 presidential elections with average bias in the same direction is rare.

I think 🤔 I see the problem.

Excellent point that I will make in the future.
I was pretty loyal to anyone supporting Obama even the daily dish. Those were the days

When I worked in WaPo Opinions in 2017-2018, senior editors specifically told junior editors not to factcheck Marc Thiessen and other MAGA columnists, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to publish anything by them at all, and “we need them for intellectual diversity.”
It’s very telling that opening your publication to MAGA “thought” requires a massive downgrade in quality control.
MyDD!!!! I haven’t thought about that in forever. Thanks for the memory!! It was my go to for a while. I lived and breathed online esp daily kosvback then. And I just joined the DSA if you want to know how I ended up.

Rep. Clay Higgins of Louisiana blames SNAP recipients for not stockpiling a month's worth of food.

He ends his tweet with "stop smoking crack."

This was just posted by a CBS News producer on their Instagram stories.
But I want to hear him talk about the 20 years after the tattoo. Why didn’t he cover it years ago? He doesn’t ever address that except to say unconvincingly “I didn’t know”

Three men — Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos — now own more wealth than 165 million Americans combined.

They own the media.
They own the algorithms.
They own politicians in both parties.

The system is rigged — but We the People can take it back.
Another way to look at it: what are everyday issues like child care, rent, food, and even free buses vs. what are not everyday issues like EV, abortion, etc. I buy a car once every 20 years. I have one abortion in my lifetime vs issues I deal w daily, weekly, or monthly for 20-30 years.
Really worth reading. American justice still alive and kicking
U.S. Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino is on the witness stand in the courtroom of U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis. He is wearing his typical Border Patrol uniform.

"Good morning, your honor," he says.
Ellis is calling Bovino to the witness stand.

Will start a new thread for his testimony.

I know it’s too much to expect them to know their history, but if the American Revolution had a motto, it definitely would not have been “immigrants go home.”

It would have been “get your fucking soldiers out of our cities.”
America... boy, I dunno.

even the democratic consultants are evaluating the democratic party according to the caricatures put out by republican-aligned media
Incredible to claim that “abolish the police” is in any way a Democratic policy
This is why people voted trump. This is what they wanted/expected.
I was on Balt co grand jury a few years back when officers could pull you over and search if they “smelled” weed coming from a passing car. All drivers were black.
