What an odd set of options offered in the CBS News Poll. DEI but nothing about democracy or rule of law.👀
Simple truth about masculinity:
The conceptualizations of masculinity that males adopt don't work out all that well for them if they don't work well in the eyes of women — especially (but not exclusively!) those to whom they are attracted.
"The world doesn’t have to condone entrenched military rule in Sudan. The African Union..freezes a state’s membership [after] a..coup or military takeover.

Sudan’s civilian leaders may not have guns or hold territory but they have something much more powerful:
the support of the Sudanese people"

"This approach might be borne out of expediency, but it has also put dictators and unelected rulers on the same footing as leaders chosen by their citizens."

"The international community has often defaulted to a blunt principle:
Recognize whoever is in charge

This unwritten rule, known as the doctrine of effective control, means that legitimacy is granted to those who successfully control a country’s land and population, no matter how they got there"

"Unlike in other civil wars, these two groups are primarily fighting to entrench their own financial & political interests, not those of any civilian bloc.

If the U.S. [et al] are serious about achieving lasting peace in Sudan, they must empower [its] civilian representatives, not its warlords."

"[T]he Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces are locked in a stalemate that has triggered what experts consider one of the world’s worst humanitarian disasters..."

"An executive order he signed in February says,...

'No employee of the executive branch acting in their official capacity may advance an interpretation of the law as the position of the United States that contravenes the President or the Attorney General’s opinion on a matter of law.'"

"Trump is in the process of building his own paramilitary force.

He has deployed National Guard troops to cities over the objections of local officials.

He is invoking wartime powers to deport people without due process, even suggesting that American citizens may be sent to foreign prisons."

This is an unprecedented historical moment that demands an unprecedented public response.

I’m incredibly thankful for the solidarity shown by elected officials, public figures, constituents, and others over the past few days.
Bureaucratic impediments to service, I surmise, is a foremost technique the administration is relying on to achieve many of its cost reduction goals - to the pain and financial detriment of many, especially the most vulnerable.

[That includes] crimes against humanity [within ICE facilities]

I respect the International Criminal Court."

"War crimes are bad.
Also, anyone who commits war crimes should be held accountable.
That goes for Hamas.
That goes for Netanyahu
and anyone that's following his orders to commit war crimes."

A #Bikebus attracts families that normally drive to #school. Today 60 kids in Edinburgh cycled to school in the 6 bike buses that ran across #edinburgh. That's 40 less cars polluting the city. It's an easy, safe, healthy and fun way to reducing congestion Let's roll it out to all school
