There are many reasons to hate on generative AI and large language models but my personal #1 reason is gen AI marketing appropriating the sparkle emoji.

It's blatant erasure of sarcastic bitch culture and I won't stand for it.

"Thur's a goose loose about this hoose" certainly sounds more ominous than the standard way this expression goes

Me: I just don't understand why I can't just out-think my anxiety and emotions and simply react and respond in the most ideal way every single time and never feel bad

You can't logic your way out of being burnt out. Unless you're me. Who should be able to do it and it's a personal failing that I can't

Charlie's evolution of o.o faces through each panel in the page is just amazing
panel 1: o.o
panel 2: O_O

Also, more lightheartedly, I decided to use the opportunity to continue (maybe finish) BG3, and the clingy cat wanted to be included so I made her a spot to sleep on next to the computer and she was very smug about it
A siamese cat on a folded up blanket next to a desk. She is looking very attentively at the screen, where you can see some of the Baldur's Gate 3 UI. (My character doesn't have a lot of hit points left.)

I am off work for three weeks!

It's because I was mega burned out, which is bad, but having made myself go through the paperwork and actually taking time off to recover is VERY VERY GOOD for me

Oh, oh no, that's so unfortunate hahaaa

But yeah Mont St Michel is such a unique place. I'd love to go again. Aaa.

(but also, they literally work in minority language related stuff so I'm not too concerned, haha)

Man I haven't been back for over a decade and now I have the powerful need to go to Carnac and Quimper and Saint-Malo and I guess while I'm there I could push to Brest and from there Mont St Michel isn't that far and uhhhhh okay maybe I am a leeetle homesick.

Unfortunately no, that's not where my family is from originally. I know a couple words but that's it... I do know a Breton speaker here on bsky though?

Carnac!!! I've been there! I grew up visiting Morbihan on a very regular basis and love it very much still, though I've not been for a very very long time.

Ah, it's just a case of me thinking that "varech" / "goémon" is a specific species of seaweed, when actually it's "any ol' large seaweed that washes up on the shore".

There's speculation that DHL may have stolen the plot of Maurice and made it straight in Lady Chatterley, so, honestly, based on that alone, fuck him

(meanwhile, this other website also calls those kilns. Personally I would go for "kelp kiln" or "kelp-burning pit" or "kelp pit" but not oven, which in my mind suggests a food rather than "industrial" application...)

This website on the equivalent process in Scotland just calls those "pits", though I do wonder if there's a more technical term!

So, you know. Makes even native speakers go "what" ;p
hauntedtoasters.bsky.social
I had to look up what goémon was because I'd call it varech (though I'd use the word specifically for what Wikipedia tells me is called "knotted wrack")

Goémon sounds like something you'd find in an occult treatise from the 17th century, heh

And yes most felt tip pens have water based ink, vs markers which typically have alcohol based ink, hence why they smell so strong.
hauntedtoasters.bsky.social
Yup! Alcohol based markers do the kind of blending magic thing where the colour just lays really evenly. No idea how it works but it works!

(My personal fave for colouring in is watercolour and one of those paint brushes that have water in the handle, but now I really wanna try sharpies!)
