In a world where "fandom" is quickly meaning self-aggrandized consumerism and the company itself is pushing it out; it's great to be part of a community of people that are passionate, heartfelt, honest, and creative.

Pure devotion to places we love.

First: They didn't build EPCOT the city,

Last: but, did you know about Disney's best kept secret...

Getting followed by 40ish bots in the last 24 hours (of when I've posted almost nothing of interest), and nearly all of them are clearly farming for political engagement, and reposting whatever the post of the week is.

This way to the exciting world of Gold Medallion Homes and the builder of the month!

Banger of a directional sign in Disneyland's Carousel Theater, which I have only seen in this single photo taken by a young @tomkmorris.bsky.social.

It's worth it. Some cool 3D scenes especially with the light trails.

Tron Ares Round 2, or as I thought about it, a story/plot/lore viewing. A couple of more frustrations but also a couple of more things I liked.

I think it breathes a little more on the 2nd viewing.

I also think this is gonna do big numbers on streaming.

Variety said Ares cost $180M. Forget box office, let's figure out how much overlay LL has made:

14 riders per train, dual dispatch ~40sec, that's ~2520/hour. Assume 50% LL sales - 1260/LL/hour. Avg price is $20. That's $25k/hour.

26 days, minus parties, ~290 hours, ~$7.25M in LL sales.

I was hoping with how realatively easy new shows seemed...but fool me!

Thank you. Because I almost called this Matterhorn Way, but I think that's the other side.
hastin.net
Probably getting a refresh due to all the pole work.

New temporary lighting has been added along the walkway between the Matterhorn and Submarine Voyage, mounted to the handrails. Looks like the light poles dating back to the 50s along the lagoon have been removed. #Disneyland
New light on handrail. Top view of light mounted on wood and power cable. Back view of light and power cable.

Mostly because arrival from the south. Waiting for my structure off Disney Way...

I'm gonna use the quote "In a world in which billions of people are active online, support for almost any proposition, no matter how farfetched, fantastical or unreasonable, can be found with little effort in any number of comment sections, chat rooms, and servers." all the time.

Aurora borealis?

Agreed. Food story is way better.

It's missing an "entertainment" factor (DTD used to be *the* place to go for Disney movies) and outside of dining and shopping, and it lacks a good themed bar (vs hotel's too-small Sam's).

Food is better, great new aesthetic, but it's missing the fun.

Real Talk: I feel like we don't talk enough about the absolute glow up that Downtown Disney has seen over the last couple of years. Once Carnaby and the steakhouse/BBQ open, it's going to be incredible.

Gordon Ramsey, you have Michelin stars, restaurants all over the world, and you host like 200 TV shows. What are you going to do next?

He's going to Disneyland.

I guess I was thinking "Earl of Sandwich" and takeaway and didn't realize this other concept is a sit-down.

Humbug.

What's interesting here to me is the Caesars/Earl Enterprises/Gordon Ramsay relationship.

I do like GR F&C at The Linq Promenade in Vegas, and it'll be a fun option to have that in DTD.

Joe's thread here really describes how I feel about the film as well. It's fun, somw fun ideas, and fun plot devices.

Awesome music. Great VFX, especially in IMAX 3D.

Just got back from my advance screening of Tron: Ares — and I really enjoyed it. Perfect? No. Flawed? Absolutely. But it’s a blast, especially in IMAX. There were moments when the NIN score literally shook the theater.

More Tier 0 days in 2025/2026 than in 2024/2025. A way to "raise prices" but not actually. Interesting to see April now has Tier 0 days, and so does March.
