You know this. KEEP REFRESHING.

As of this morning, all ticket types had no reservations today. An entire park technically filled to capacity with "nobody goes on SBS".
Sunny Sunday’s at Disneyland

Okay, but I still want a ceremonial-grade cheeseburger.

wait, never mind - this is Instagram slopover posts

Why do people post on Threads like they are doing something for the first time and the only ones to ever do it?

"i spent my sunday afternoon exploring a newer fast food destination, Raising Cane's - unique for their chicken tenders and signature sauces, this location was full of unique surprises"

You could spend a whole day in the Fairytale Forest too. Just wonderful.

Efteling is amazing. Droomvlucht might be my favorite Dark Ride in the world. Carnaval Festival is a trip.

Such a cute and charming park.

I don't know if I would call chicken strips a premium chicken breast. Now, if the Disneyland one had two premium chicken breasts, then that would be the better bargain.

To be fair... at IHOP - $18.99.

A gag episode where it's all characters from former abandoned Muppet projects

Somewhere, I hope Jim Henson is smiling. Disney’s reboot of The Muppet Show was pitch perfect and almost as if they had just picked up where they left off. None of these convoluted attempts at making the characters relevant. Just put them on a stage with celebrities and let the fun and mayhem begin

Even within the same resort and two parks, it feels that Disneyland used to have this.

AMC in DTD, Dance Parties, Bands, 3D Theater Films, Arcades, Theater Shows, Innoventions, Big Thunder Ranch, Passive Exhibits

DLR feels like everything is either "rides or the one/two big nighttime shows".

#TheMuppetShow was delightful. Writing and tone has me excited for RnRC, hopefully there's a good queue video of bits.

The broadcast version had a couple of short ad breaks, but there was the long form "world of worlds" Walt Disney World ad - if only there was an attraction based on this show.

Yeah, WDW absolutely opens your eyes at all of this for sure.

I've got a placeholder booked from when I traveled on a 4 day with @mdiba.bsky.social, need to figure out what to do with it.

Disneyland knew how to scale to locals and repeat visitors pretty well from 2009 - 2020.

Dance parties, swing dancing, festivals with ample capacity, big shows, casual refreshes and redos. Fan favorites like EO Tribute added "casual capacity".

Festivals went from up to 16 booths to 6.
February 4, 2026 at 6:44 PM
Also, as Rick pointed out - kinda is implying that WDW is somehow unsafe compared to Disneyland. Not good from a messaging perspective either.
February 4, 2026 at 6:08 PM
Gotta say, Festival of the Lion King and kicking around EPCOT to see all the performers, and the new DHS shows was a harsh reminder to me how much Disneyland's live entertainment has fallen.

I get it, those parks need more to do - but man. So many empty theaters and stages at Disneyland.
February 4, 2026 at 6:06 PM
It feels that way. It's 9:00pm on a Sunday night, park closes at Midnight, it's empty - but that 🚫 appears on the calendar, it's like they are saying "you can't come because your functional use to us is unnecessary" (trying to sell you more or putting you in queues to sell more Lightning Lane).
You know the situation is dire when they lose the guys who just want to walk around and take pictures of signage.
February 4, 2026 at 5:39 PM
It's funny because back in the ElecTRONica days, I'd spend $60 - $100 a weekend on booze.

'Drink and hang out in a dead area' just isn't appealing to me either.
February 4, 2026 at 5:34 PM
So now I've got a bucket to spend on other stuff, maybe even some Disney stuff (doing the 70th DAD event), but am really excited about Fan Fest and other local stuff the next few months/year.

I still have a WDW pass I've gotten great usage out of so far, and will probably make it out there again.
February 4, 2026 at 5:27 PM
Disneyland wants to be your *only* entertainment when you have a pass, from cost to mental mindset, and penalizes you if you don't.

I also feel like cattle to sell Lightning Lane to everyone else.

Hoping new leadership/mindsets change what feels like finally waning sales and frustrated customers.
February 4, 2026 at 5:27 PM
Disneyland pass expired. The mental load of managing weekend plans and reservations is wearing me down.

Combine this with shrinking festivals, stale ops, and poor arrival/security experiences - feels like there's a lot of contempt for the customer.

Still love what Disneyland was, but need a break.
