40 years ago today , long before Game of Thrones and a year before Transformers: The Movie taught us how stories can take a dark turn without warning , many an 80s kid experienced this “family story “ . #HATM

Something that seems to persist to this day is the placement of
(seemingly) edgy white police officers in minority neighborhoods. #HATM

There’s no way this level of corruption in the area of law enforcement doesn’t still exist. #HATM

It’s no coincidence that Trump is deploying the National Guard to large cities that are home to lots of different races . #HATM

While a different kind of movie in terms of tone , I highly recommend One Battle After Another from P.T. Anderson. Great performances and lots of similar themes to this movie . #HATM

I’m thinking they ran Kalyuua in Supporting Actor because they figured it would almost guarantee him a win , which it did. But he’s clearly the lead in terms of the character driving the action. #HATM

Daniel Kaluuya won the Oscar for Supporting Actor, but he and Stanfield were both lead roles . #HATM

Jesse Plemons does a really good job of playing scary white men. His role in Civil War is haunting . #HATM

Saw that Ryan Coogler and his wife were producers on this movie . Definitely has their stamp of quality. #HATM

The Mario Van Peebles film Panther is also a pretty good look at the organization. #HATM

What made this movie so unnerving to watch is the fact that an incident almost identical to its depictions occurred less than a year before its release in Louisville,KY . #HATM

That brings us to tonight's #HATM questions:
1) Who do you want to see a biopic of?
2) And what is on the menu at your home tonight?

This was one of Warner Brothers big entries during their 2021 day and date pattern due to the pandemic. I actually kind of miss those days. Not the pandemic, but the option to be able to watch a movie at home upon release. #HATM

Sidenote: I would love a James Bond book consisting of all the break up conversations he had with the women who thought of him as their savior during his adventures. #HATM

#HATM retro review : 30 years later, Goldeneye reminds me of The Force Awakens. A gap of time between installments along with perceived lackluster previous outings resulted in people thinking the movie better than it really was, myself included. Not awful, but very paint by the numbers.

It’s obvious why Judi Debch was retained for the Daniel Craig reboots . She was the best thing about the Brosnan entries. #HATM

In all the American Revolutioning going on this week, I missed what @herberthistory.bsky.social picked for this Sunday.

I jumped over to the Insta and was pleasantly surprised to find that Judas and the Black Messiah is queued up for Sunday night #HATM

I’ve been wanting to watch it again 🤓

I think it’s about time to leave Facebook. Almost everything I get is ads or fan groups . Friends who used to post often hardly ever anymore, and most people who post routinely seem like a$$holes .
