one time i was at the cinema and a mother and her children were there and one of the children said something was "interesting", to which the mother said "you can't say something is just 'interesting', that doesn't actually mean anything". i think about it often because i think she might be right.

sorry to some folks, but if we want games to be viewed as consequential art and not products - eventually game development at large is going to have to move past the realm of linkedin, forbes 30 under 30, how to market your game, professional business conference stuff and into something else.

I wasn’t expecting an RPG Maker game to be one of the best shopkeeper sims available, but here we are! It helps that Final Profit is pretty funny and has an anti-capitalist bent to it. It also has an endless mode if you want more after the 15-20 hour story.

maybe erroneous observation but the 'there is not enough coverage of small indie games' stuff might just be a symptom of people making games having a deep yearning for people actually engaging with their work in a more thoughtful way, beyond any suspected material benefits of 'coverage'
