Making games
They need a severance thing where you can clock in and only think about AI and vibe whatever and then you clock out and never have to hear about it again.

The saddest thing about the culture wars is that the only weapon for the soldiers on the ground is to invert the opposition’s stance / tactics. No imagination for a different way.

This is more or less the plot to Foucault’s Pendulum.

Putting my game on pause to pursue a different idea. I’m really happy with it as a poc though (arcade surfing game / trading simulation with real financial data), will probably return to it someday. Godot ended up being more mature and capable than I thought it would, even with 4.x running on iOS.

From games are kind of like Katamari where a major theme in both is that the world is full of items and who can really come to terms with all of them.

Conclave is a very nice amalgam of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Young Pope/The New Pope, and The Name of the Rose. Every actor in it is a delight. Some tremendous shot compositions. I want to watch it again and track the appearance of certain colors. There should be 15 movies like this a year.

It pains me to say that AGI is going to be le epic millennial. You heard it here first. Given the (non-polluted) body of training data is the internet in the last 30 years, our AI overlords are going to be epically random.

I bet it’s bittersweet if you’re Hunter thinking of all the crimes you could’ve done but chose not to, and now it didn’t matter.

They made Name of the Rose into a video game called “The Abby of Crime”. I think there’s a lot of potential there.
