A piece of advice I give devs is if you're on a team where a high performing person always protects a friend who does no to barely any work, run.

The problem with school projects is you get stuck with folks lile this, with no escape.

But game dev (& game dev expo org) allows you to leave.
Generally speaking if you hated group projects in school perhaps game dev is not for you.

Really hooked on Astro Bot - This may become my second favorite video game of all time (behind Super Mario Galaxy)

There's a few Del Tacos in a desert town halfway between LA and Vegas that are still ran by the original founder (he's in his 90s) and they still serve the original recipe and portion sizes (avoiding corporate rules)

Best drive thru tacos
Here’s a topic outside the news.

What’s the most unlikely place you’ve ever had the best particular food or drink you’ve ever had?

Like, not the best steak at the world’s top steakhouse. Something weirder.

Best burger I’ve ever had? Fresno airport.

Best cup of coffee? Crater Lake Lodge.

Related, I'm playing this on a PlayStation Portal hundreds of miles away from where my PS5 actually is, and it's been a very smooth experience. First time taking it with me and playing it away from home since I got it
I started playing Astro Bot for the first time last night and I can already tell this game is going to be one of my favorite games of the year

San Diego Comic-Con will no longer allow AI 'art' to be displayed at their event

"Material created by AI either partially or wholly, is not allowed in the art show"

This follows backlash from artists after SDCC initially indicated AI-generated work would be permitted

I don't understand how these companies want to double down on AI and advanced tech but at the same time, resort to old methods of working in an office.

Do you not trust all of this tech to be working from home and remotely? 🤔

Music/soundtrack for modern anime just doesn't hit the same way as 90's/00's anime does. I miss the catchy bangers. I can't even give you a memorable anime theme in the last 5 years or so

So I found out the catch on the GameStop "buy 2 get 1 free" game deal they were doing last holiday season - They inflate prices $15+ each for their used games to make up for the loss.

Very shady! Please do better. I'll re-share this post any time they ever do a deal like this in the future.

(Leave Steam reviews on everything you enjoy, even if it's just a 'cool game')

Speaking of cursed genre blends, Treachery in Beatdown City (I HIGHLY recommend the Ultra Remix edition) is a turn-based Final Fight.

It is also aggressively leftist and pissed off about absolutely everybody and everything and half of the fun is the catharsis of beating up people who deserve it.
Save 90% on Treachery in Beatdown City on Steam
Explore an ANGRY city, meet the WORST people, and beat 'em up with STYLE! Pick your fighter, FREEZE TIME, build custom combos, and knock out your enemies, all to save the president.
