I wonder if Hincapie is tied to playing Merino at ST, an overlapping full back that maybe offers more attacking runs in the absence of Gyokores?

That's our hope at least!

It will probably take some of the ones coming back more time to actually be back than others, Havertz and Jesus have been longer term injuries for example. But yeah in principle that's when we hope to finally be able to use the full squad we've built

Obviously can't speak for Lewis, but don't think he means seriously means that the sum total of our squad is deficient somewhere

But we've been short in attack for almost all of the season. Trossard is the only attacker thats been there from the start and not had an injury

Whatever way he goes, he's got as good a test run as hes gonna get to try something out tonight before the weekend

Either way, I'd like us to try and replace Gyoks channel runs one way or another and Merino isn't going to do that

I think there's some options (Trossard or Eze, maybe even something completely left field like Saka?), and tonight is maybe a good test run even if its a bit short notice

I'd be surprised if it's anything else besides Merino at ST on Sunday, but I'd be surious to see if Arteta sees an opportunity tonight to try out his own 'Nwaneri could be a ST someday' hypothesis before Sunderland at the weekend

I'm 99.9% sure it's gonna be Merino, feels like he's the default 3rd choice now

But I'd like to see us get Nwaneri in I think. Sharp around the box, but with more legs. Is now the time to test out Artetas own 'he could be a striker someday' hypothesis?

I'd like to see us get Nwaneri in one way or another without Gyok I think, and I'm not against trying something new to do it

Whether its himself as the ST, into midfield and use Eze/Leo at ST/LW, or something more left field and play Saka ST with Nwaneri on the right
