Arsenal really need their available attackers to step up, given the injury issues, and Trossard has done that in the first half here. He was good against Spurs, too. He's had a patchy season but seems to be hitting form at an important time.

HT - Arsenal 1, Aston Villa 0

Pretty, pretty good from the hosts. As has frequently beem the case of late, you find yourself asking whether all that field tilt could result in a few more shots but you're picking small holes in a fine performance.

Gabriel was Mikel Arteta’s first proper signing at #Arsenal, and turned down clubs in a much better position to join.

Almost five years on, he’s become a truly rounded defender, and has massively improved his first touch and ball progression.

Get that contract on the table. Warrior. #AFC

In the last 10 Premier League meetings between Villa and Arsenal both sides have won five games each.

Declan Rice just compared Myles Lewis-Skelly to Mousa Dembele and it didn’t seem ludicrously premature?

Mikel #Arteta needs MAXIMUM support right now. Zero doubt.

The change he’s brought to the #Arsenal in just 5 years is phenomenal. From top to bottom, throughout the club.

He’s still a rookie, effectively.

And yes, he makes mistakes. But we couldn’t be on a better trajectory. Let me explain…

Arsenal have won the FA Cup more times than any other team (14).

They have won it nine times since Spurs last made a final, which is more times than Spurs have ever won it.

Worth the subs 👍
First 30 is a “state of Arsenal” pod with Clive.
Then the scouting video.
Two very interesting players. One raw with a high ceiling that would be a risk. One that looks like a “Leo from the right” type option.

Is Barcola the profile of forward Arsenal need?
Can Kang-In be a "Leo type" signing to backfill a couple positions?

Arsenal have won six and lost none of their last seven home games against Manchester United. But the Red Devils last victory at the Emirates came in the FA Cup.

Yes please. The amount of work Arsenal ask Saka to get through isn't sustainable if you want him at his best for 50 games a season and it blunts are attack. More teams should take their chances and dare an opposing fullback to join an attack 'free' by leaving the most dangerous forward open.
I present you: my ideal out-of-possession shape when the opponent has advanced possession.

Timber can handle himself.

Lots of people will have their own explanations for what has gone ‘wrong’ (a relative term) at Arsenal this season. Arteta’s tactics? Recruitment? Bad forwards?

Maybe there’s something in all of them but really the big issue is obvious.
