We wanted to give Goomba a car cat scratcher for her 16th birthday but couldn’t find a good one. (We already owned a truck one though.) Then something we got came in a perfect box to turn into one. So I got the hot glue and scissors out and turned it into van! Used all recycled packaging materials!

In significantly less sad news, this little man pooped!!
He also got some X-rays and oh man, I am so relieved Michele wanted to take him on because he is a super complicated kiddo. His condition is likely caused by congenital hypothyroidism.

Baby Tokki was one of the cutest creatures I have ever seen and I spent many sleepless nights trying to keep her from dying on us when she first came to Rocket Cat.

Got a call that a pet store was shutting down nearby and one of our friends rented a huge trailer so we could pick up the pet food they were giving away and take it to the local food pantry and shelters, but we got here and everything but the rodent tubes and charcoal packets were already gone.

Called around a bit to just feel out options and general consensus is that there’s nothing that can be done, I’m just having a hard time with it. I feel better for having at least consulted more people about it, just wish this wasn’t happening. I’ll be okay. Eventually.

Can’t get her to eat anything at all today. Tried all the stinkiest foods and her favorites, she wouldn’t touch them much less the kidney food. Wish I had the money to just blow on trying dialysis since this started as an injury and not CKD but I wouldn’t even know where to start right now.

Was stuck at the hospital for six hours just for the doctor to finally come out and accuse me of being on meth because I guess she didn’t notice that I told the nurse I have a prescription for adderall and clearance for it from my cardiologist. 🫠

lol I’m stuck in a hospital in the middle of nowhere off the five because my heart decided to do The Thing again while I was driving home and Tokki is dying and I can’t even get out of here to go spend time with her.
I just want a break. I can’t take much more of this. 🫠

Did not manage to find transport so I just picked him up from Wendy’s and we’re traveling to LA now. Rachel is gonna go by my house to check on Chewy and medicate Teddy later tonight. Kitten’s still doing okay and passed a tiny bit of poop on his own last night! Wish us luck and a boring drive.
Goliath’s hanging in there, not pooping on his own yet but he is more alert and active today and eating for us now unassisted. He’s showing some minor signs of URI, but probably is not going to the emergency vet tonight? Fingers crossed?

This guy needs transport from Solano County to LA County (Suisun to Palmdale, CA) if anyone has ideas for getting him there before Monday. His chances of survival are best if he goes asap but I am having a baf time with my neck issues and Chewy isn’t feeling well so I want to keep an eye on him.

This guy needs transport from Solano County to LA County (Suisun to Palmdale, CA) if anyone has ideas for getting him there before Monday. His chances of survival are best if he goes asap but I am having a baf time with my neck issues and Chewy isn’t feeling well so I want to keep an eye on him.
OKAY, I got a hold of Michele and we have a plan now, I’m going to take him to her at Milo’s Sanctuary because they have the kind of funding to handle a case as complex as his. Just figuring out logistics for a last minute drive to LA tomorrow.

I have a new doctor that is actually familiar with hEDS and it’s great because she immediately figured out my hand problems are coming from my neck, but I think I may have further injured myself doing the additional flexion X-rays and it’s not fabulous. 🫠

Let’s try this again 😬 This is Gizmo’s brother who is also constipated and was surrendered to us tonight. If we can’t get him to poop in the next hour or so he’s gotta go to the emergency vet.

We lost Gizmo. She was just too small, and given that she first showed signs of a fecal impact a week ago they were surprised she had even made it this long. I wish the people who had her had realized how serious her constipation was sooner.

This little girl (previous owner named her Gizmo) has been hospitalized with the worst constipation the emergency vet has ever seen. I’m in contact with Michele now so we should be able to cover anything else she needs, but it is very touch and go and there is a chance she may not survive.
Unfortunately she did not poop last night and now is struggling to breathe from the pressure on her lungs. Our vets feel we need to take her to the emergency vet and I haven’t been able to get a hold of Michele yet.

This little girl (previous owner named her Gizmo) has been hospitalized with the worst constipation the emergency vet has ever seen. I’m in contact with Michele now so we should be able to cover anything else she needs, but it is very touch and go and there is a chance she may not survive.
Up at the Solano Napa Pet Emergency Clinic with her now, to at least get her started- I know they’re probably going to want to do a lot of diagnostics but I should hear back from Michele sometime soon, hopefully.
