What do you mean by this? Clearly Kings and nobility existed and in that sense there were systems happening.
Good luck. Those things have enshittified so much they are inedible. And I say this as someone with pretty low frozen pizza standards.
Showed this post to my mom.
Her response, “I think he’s rushing it because he wants to have a wrestling event."
Chat, I think she’s right. I hate it here.

Tariffs are ruining everything — including the Texas State Fair.

$14 for fried oreos.
$15 for a funnel cake chicken sandwich.
$25 for a turkey leg.

DC politicians are pricing Texans out of our own state fair.
Can Thiel be losing it, if he never had it to begin with?

Hating the ACA is similar to hating on vaccines.

It's a luxury borne of not really appreciating what existed before.

The fix wasn't perfect, and there is a lot more that we could do to make it better.

But the "ACA Was Bad" Discourse is just untethered from reality.
"Trump is using power to achieve conservative policy goals. You can't divorce the use of power from the policy that power is being expended upon."

Made a short doc about a man in LA who still makes neon signs. He calls it “the lost and found art.” Check out the full thing on YouTube: youtu.be/SSNfDodj674?...
The folks who hold regressive viewpoints should be forced to say, “I’m willing to be in a tent with ppl to the left of me bc Trump is an existential threat.”
Ppl like OP want the opposite. They want, “I’m willing to be in a tent with ppl who oppose my existence bc they are less hostile than Trump."
There is a huge difference between saying, “all who oppose this regime are welcome in our movement,” and saying, “our movement will compromise its goals bc we are welcoming people who hold regressive viewpoints.”
Folks demanding political / ideological purity fail to see that this is no longer a movement belonging to the left / liberals. This is an opposition against fascism. By definition it must be big tent. Failure to grasp this: see divided oppositions in Eastern Europe as your failed examples.

Agree. But too often, the Dems extend that tent right instead of left. And the ppl most vulnerable to fascism are the ones who need solidarity of the big tent the most. That’s trans ppl, disabled ppl, Palestinians, children. If they aren’t included, then the big tent becomes one of fascism’s tools

My only hobby lobby story is a friend from Oklahoma took me there and we got stuff to make fortune telling runes. I found this cutter that was supposed to be a cornucopia, but looked more like a fetus. So I made fetus runes, because I figured that would piss off Hobby Lobby evangelicals the most.

THIS THIS THIS!
Before the ACA was passed, my physician told me NOT to get genetic testing. For the cancer that killed my mom.

They told me not to because if I did, I might not be able to get affordable health insurance. Or any health insurance.
Honestly the kind of unhinged behavior I would expect at Hobby Lobby, but that really, really sucks.
I really do love how the first thing engineers learn is that having a single point of failure for something critical is very bad, actually. And here we have our whole fuckin’ internet dependent on a single point of failure.
Good engineering, everybody.

this is bait for the losers who always comment on these "haha yeah I think it's dumb too...I only use it for these things that I don't realize are also dumb"
You should probably take anti-fascist out of your bio if you’re using chatGPT. Can do one or the other, but not both.
LibreOffice is free and the spreadsheet app is fire.
Good reporting would look like following this up by asking him if he would be willing to get rid of his own comprehensive plan. Desantis is under age 50. His wife recently had cancer. He’s full of shit.
Ask him if he’s willing for state legislators under 50 to stop having comprehensive insurance.
DeSantis said “Most people, particularly under 50, what they really need is a catastrophic plan that’s affordable, where then they can pay whatever they’re doing out of a health savings account.”

Ron DeSantis says people under 50 don’t have much use for comprehensive health insurance
'Catastrophic care' should be enough for them.

He’s describing slavery. He wants a slave to boss.
And that is why so many software engineers are so LLM pilled.
It’s not because LLMs are good at software. It’s because they are fantasizing about having a slave.
Karpathy starts by saying human supervision is needed only because models aren't yet capable enough. But if you look closely at the obstacle ("I want to learn... and become better as a programmer, not just get served mountains of code that I'm told works"), it doesn't go away "when we reach AGI." +
Look, I hate invoking, “Imagine if Obama did this…”
But, I think it’s really important to understand the press is making a choice with Trump that they would not make with literally anyone else.
There’s zero chance GW Bush wouldn’t have been forced to resign if he had done this.
The president of the United States posted a video of him defecating on the American people. Many in my profession normalized it. This is a big reason why we are where we are.
