☮️ and justice for all sentient beings🌈

We are honored when other animals trust us enough to share moments with them.

No matter the size or species of a sentient being, their lives matter to them, so we should respect their existence. Go vegan.

Claudio is showing his excitement for pumpkins.

We are grateful to be able to provide a home to Claudio and other nonhuman animals, where their rights will be respected.

Today was once referred to as Armistice Day. It was intended to be a day of remembrance, the perpetuation and celebration of world peace, and an end to all wars. However, the meaning of today has morphed into something entirely different.

Thank you Birmingham Vegans for having us at yesterday’s Vegan Fall Fest. We would also like to thank everyone who visited our booth; we appreciate all the conversations and donations. We look forward to seeing everyone again at the next one or at our volunteer events.

In response to the recent actions of gutting essential programs for individuals who, due to a system that prioritizes profit over people's needs, need these programs, we at Graybloom Farm Sanctuary will now provide free food items to anyone in need, with no requirements necessary.

Brook and Belphe sharing a moment.

Go vegan.

Please welcome our newest resident, Brook! He arrived at GFS on 30 August after we were contacted by his caretaker who, due to their health condition, could no longer physically take care of him. Since his arrival, Brook has been in quarantine, where he has received the necessary medical care and…

Yesterday was our biggest turnout for volunteers. We can’t thank everyone enough for making the trip out and providing their time to help clean out shelters, water, and food bowls, pick up poop, etc.

We had a few visitors who decided to stop at the garden for some tomatoes.

No matter the size or species of a sentient being, their lives matter to them, so we should respect their existence. Go vegan.

Nonhuman animals are someone, not something.

The fish, pigs, cows, chickens, and other nonhuman animals whose existence humans have reduced to things to be used for food, clothing, companionship, experiments, transportation, entertainment, etc., are persons, as all human and nonhuman animals are.

Christmas, Benny, Syrup, Belphe, and Lukka greeted us after a morning of grazing.

If you are a supporter of ours and not vegan, the best way you can help nonhuman animals is not by donating to us or other sanctuaries, but by going vegan.

All animal use is wrong, regardless of the amount of harm and death involved, for the reason that all sentient beings have the basic moral right not to be the property of others. Go vegan.

Nissa is ensuring she stays cool as we have yet another week of high temperatures.

The single most important thing someone can do for nonhuman animals is to respect their right not to be property and no longer participate in their commodification by going vegan.

Ace is taking a moment to cool off in this July heat.

All nonhuman animal use involves violating the basic right - not to be the property of others - of another individual. Please go vegan and respect the rights of all sentient beings.

Recently, a dog hoarding case involving over 250 dogs that was local to us got some traction. The comments and reactions to this reflected both thankfulness that the dogs were saved from that situation and anger that a human could treat nonhumans in such a way.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out yesterday to help us clean the residents’ living spaces.

We hold volunteer events every Sunday starting at 11 EST. If you are interested or have any questions, please message us via email, social media accounts, or our website for further information.

A statement from our board chair - we veterans remember the lies that led us to the tragic and unnecessary invasion of Iraq and see the same lies being used to manufacture consent for war with Iran. Join us to tell your representatives, #NoWarWithIran #veterans #military

As an abolitionist vegan sanctuary, we see veganism as a philosophy of justice and peace; the recognition and respect of the basic moral right of nonhuman animals not to be used as property because they are sentient beings who have moral value and…

The free-living nonhuman animals, like the skunks, deer, snakes, rabbits, mice, opossums, etc., that the sanctuary is their residence or a resting place before they venture on is a reminder that we are all individuals that share this earth. We believe no individual should be considered illegal on…

Belphe, Syrup, and the other nonhuman animals who are viewed as objects to be consumed, worn, hunted, used, etc., are persons; they are individuals who value their lives. To respect their personhood means rejecting and not participating in the commodification of another individual by going vegan.
June 2, 2025 at 12:14 PM
One of the free-living turtles from the pond caught Lukka’s attention.
If you’re not vegan, please go vegan and stop viewing Lukka and other nonhuman animals as things to be consumed, worn, domesticated, sold, hunted, etc., as they, like every sentient being, value their life.
