Sad news everyone, I’m officially pulling the plug on Brightsiders, my super fan podcast for the 2017 movie Bright. I still feel like there were many interesting topics left to discuss but after 7 years of weekly episodes I’ve learned that no one has ever listened to the show.

The war being over is undoubtedly good and the end of the death and destruction in Gaza has stopped (hopefully permanently), but at its core, Israel has committed widespread acts of genocide and war crimes and will pretty much walk away consequence free.

Guinness, more so than Disney, or Apple, or any other brand, is such a fascinating house of self regulating and active historiography.

The self mythologising and erasure of any real past in favour of a cohesive history that is as marketable as the product itself is one of the greatest tricks ever.

I think because they knew I wanted to cancel they dropped me down the waiting list. Tbh they were completely useless but I persevered and was polite and considerate to the person on the other end.
