I recognise that there are people on benefits who could and should be working. However,the relentless othering of welfare recipients including the disabled and the mentally ill is a kick back to 1930s Germany again. Lets not ctrate more scapegoats for the permanently angry.

Just for context the claim that people in benefits could get an equivalent to a £71000 salary would require both parents and at least one child to be dialsabled and to live in a high rent home (probably due to disabilities). You know,the very people society should be supporting!

I was suspicious of the Conservative claim that they could save £45b from the welfare bill, clearly indicating that benefit street is a thing. Oddly this claim seems wildly optimistic see what you think…

Its interesting researching the Reeves warnings about fiscal headroom prior to the Budget. She never mentioned a £30b blackhole,as far as I can see ever. Its also true to say that a £4.2b surplus is not a significant safety net for Government finances.

Some panic over frozen tax allowances seems a bit out of proportion. Assuming a 3% pay rise and 3.6% inflation rate the extra tax for the average worker on £39000 is £7.50 a month (compared to if allowances had risen with inflation).Out of an increase of £97.50 a month.

What struck me in the KemiBadenoch budget response was,despite the early release by the OBR, her communication skills are woeful.Making it a personal attack on the Chancellor rather than a detailed critique of the budget was the action of the playground bully not a wannabe PM.

Anyone else find it odd how Farage is more supportive of Putins propaganda channel Russia Today than he is of the British Broadcasting Company. Perhaps the recent conviction of Russian Reform asset Nathan Gill might reopen an investigation into interference in our democratic system.

After Dunblane, the UK introduced laws to restrict gun ownership to protect children. It didn't mean guns disappeared, but it made it safer. The online safety bill doesn't eradicate online child abuse ,but it does make it safer. Farage offers no alternative,unless he does ,he is on the wrong side.

It was always my opinion that the British would have refused to man the gas chambers if the Nazis had won.However,having seen people burning hotels with innocents inside and some MPs refusing to condemn it,I think my patriotism was misplaced.

Perhaps the least edifying sight this week is senior Tories leaping on the coat tails of megalomaniac Musk,knowing that the language used puts MPs in real danger. Badenoch should be condemning, not condoning vile and spurious attacks, not slavelishly repeating them.
