You’ve sent me down a rabbit hole regarding Senator Roy Kendall. Turns out he was a British MI6 officer sent to Australia during the war, who stayed on and became a newsagent before being elected. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy_Ken...

Hooray! The only thing apparently worth saying about comedy - that it’s being gagged - is being said once again by someone who’s done absolutely fucking fine by being allowed to do whatever comedy he wanted in an extremely friendly environment that no longer exists, for purely economic reasons.

Just remembered when I worked at Our Price we used the word 'ENBA' to describe a particularly calamitous Christmas party when several of us accidentally got stuck on a non-stop train to London and one of us had to pretend to be going into labour.
