Why do we tolerate being herded like sheep from one pen to another and another and another. I always hope there’s no one with high or low BP in these situations or any other less visible challenge. Standing for an hour so far….

The Blairites are tying themselves up in Gordian statistical knots in their desperation to defend Blue Labour.

Can we give remedial numeracy lessons to our journalists?
3. Anti-Reform tactical voting is strong (note high turnout)
That gives Lab hope it can defend Lab-Reform marginals in England that will probably be the main battleground at next general election

When Tish James walks into a courthouse tomorrow — the target of a political prosecution demanded by a President obsessed with revenge — she does not walk in alone.

New York has her back.

Grateful to Governor Hochul for bringing us together tonight.

An impressive Plaid victory in Caerphilly. A 27% swing from Lab to Plaid. Welsh Labour's dominance crumbling. The limits of Farage & Reform's appeal underlined. Maybe the Westminster commentariat can now stop talking abt the unstoppable momentum behind Farage. Reform are beatable.
The twin epidemics of greedy right wing sycophancy and political cowardice affecting the US (and closer to home too?!) seem ineluctable for now. Given the dirt already visible and the lower depths of the iceberg unseen, both on Trump and a range of senior Republicans, what will it take?

How badly does Labour need to perform before it changes course? Genuine question.
Oops, the idiot right wing bbc brexit/britnat bias is showing. Surprise!
The right wing fan boy vibe across the britnat media is sooooo wearisome…

I was gonna do a spoof post "Chris Mason: Why Reform's second place victory spells bad news for Labour" then checked the actual story and, well, he got there first.

Good to hear Alun Davis admitting on #r4today that chasing Reform and this government's outright hostility towards refugees played a part in the hammering Labour just took in Caerphilly.

I suspect that some in Westminster will see it as a reason to go harder against marginalised groups though.

Plaid Cymru won the Caerphilly by-election overnight, with Reform pushing Labour into a distant third.

Plaid got 47% of the vote on a record turnout, suggesting to me that there was some tactical voting to keep Reform out, which won 36%.

A factor that could be underpriced in a general election.

Here are the companies destroying the east wing of the White House

The East Wing was built in 1902 & rebuilt in 1942, long after asbestos was used as a fire retardant. So, I’m sure the White House took steps to prevent a known carcinogen from entering the air during the current willy-nilly demolition.

Kidding! These irresponsible assholes don’t care who they kill.

Today, the White House Press Secretary told the country that this ridiculous damn ballroom is “the president’s main priority”…not reopening the government, not lowering the cost of groceries, not lowering the cost of housing, not lowering the cost of healthcare….building a ballroom

800 words please on why this proves the Labour and Conservative strategy to primarily target Reform voters is working perfectly.
Caerphilly, Senedd constituency by-election result:

PC: 47.4% (+19.0)
REF: 36.0% (+34.2)
LAB: 11.0% (-34.9)
CON: 2.0% (-15.3)
GRN: 1.5% (+1.5)
LDEM: 1.5% (-1.2)
GWL: 0.3% (+0.3)

Plaid Cymru GAIN from Labour.
