Eddie has developed the habit of going up to drive-thru windows to pick up an order and announcing "I have a mobile."

At least the people at Culver's take it in good humor but everyone else gets confused

The Skeeter Skelton reference reminds me how TOUCH OF EVIL was so ahead of its time. I don't think the average American back then knew that there was a certain type of person (like Skelton) who treated the Mexico-US border like the Wild West and exaggerated the evils of petty crime and pot smoking

This reminded me that I haven't seen THE DESCENT so I'm now watching THE DESCENT
My cryptid pet peeve is that pale crawlers/the rake/etc are bullshit invented on 4chan in the late 2000s and you will not find a single documented report of them before the release of these two mid 2000s horror movies that were both about pale skinny dudes who crawled around in caves.

A really great history of the 1970 exploding whale!
50 years ago, today, a whale exploded on an Oregon beach. 20 years later, before social media or video sharing sights or smartphones, it would become the first viral Internet video.

We sent it to each other in the mail.

The History of Exploding Whales Is the History of the Internet Itself

My first whale video came in the form of a VHS tape mailed to me by a stranger from the internet.
