Both teams get a goal in the second period, so the two-goal lead is the same. The 3-1 score looks good for Washington but they're still relying a bit too much on LT heroics and individual efforts. Twenty more minutes of hockey, try to get some good zone time and setups going (and some D). #ALLCAPS

Just some insanely slick work from Chychrun. He's got 20 goals for the second season in a row now. Guys are going beast mode tonight, and you wish there were more games any time soon to build on this. #ALLCAPS

The Capitals are up 2-0 on the Predators, but maybe don't deserve to be. The shots are even at 11 apiece, but the Preds had better chances for sure. It'd be nice if the Caps played more like they didn't have their Olympian goaltender back in the net, but it's still a lead and we take those. #ALLCAPS

Very thankful to see the Capitals did NOT acquire Artemi Panarin, for several reasons. The LA Kings "win" the bidding war with just about nothing (Liam Greentree and a third round pick).

The Washington Capitals definitely slipped tonight compared to the last three games, and as a result fall to the Philadelphia Flyers 4-2. Not an entirely awful game or anything, but just not quite enough. Back down to earth. 🧵 #ALLCAPS

Still a one-goal game in Philly, but the Caps are on the board. 2-1 with both teams wanting some possessions back. Washington really needs to tighten up their passing and defense, as usual. #ALLCAPS

Both goalies are doing well, but the Flyers were gifted the best chance, so they're up 1-0 on the Capitals after one. The numbers all look good for Washington so far, but they'll need a little something extra to leapfrog Philly. #ALLCAPS
