As a big fan of snowboarding games I can confirm that they will not survive. SSX and Amped are gone and are never coming back (as the game I and others would want at least) because it isn't enough to have a modest and sustainable audience it has to do Fornite numbers or it isn't worth it to execs.

I feel like a lot of the problem comes down to balance.
Some writers use pure fantasy words only and others use the compoundword stuff only and both can feel really awkward depending on context.
Maybe the serious character uses the full name and a more flippant character uses a made up one.

I never thought I'd be rooting so hard for a game in one of my favourite series to bomb but here I am waiting patiently to see if others find this product as revolting as I do.

These games always look great for the time they released and aged well. The reason for that is they knew they would get alot of value out of a high quality asset and would reuse it.
Good asset reuse requires good assets to reuse.
This in conjunction with the lighting combines to look really bad.

It is because when I hit the button to do an attack it feels good, something no Assassin's Creed game has managed.
Borderlands does feel good to shoot the guns but it also doesn't shut up which negates it.
Game feel is one of the most underrated aspects behind people enjoying games imo.

Sometimes less is more and after reading up on it I get the decision but having watched a few people play the game and have zero reaction to the reveal screams that you have used a cool word that is just too obscure to mean anything to anyone that hasn't study theology.

People have really unhealthy relationships with game series that they like having some bad or divisive games... I mean I remember after Cold Steel 4 everyone was acting like Trails was over. Cut to today with everyone playing the new one and singing it praises.

I think most people agree when you get upset at the Hades 2 1.0 stuff, adding new stuff, especially narratively, within a month of the game declaring it was finished is shit, but if in 3 years from now Hades 2 2.0 comes out packed with new content I'm not going to be bitter that I played at launch.

It is one part localization catching up with the games and another part it being the exact business model of Like a Dragon.
1 game a year, smart asset reuse, dedicated (rabid) fans = profit.

Having just finished the first episode of season 5 (I have to see for myself), I gotta ask what the point is of adding the faceless evil military back in other than for them to be fodder for the monsters to kill.
Linda Hamiliton playing the evil scientist doesn't make it any less boring.

RAM is not something that being behind the curve can avoid.
Switch 2 uses 12 GB of RAM, more than the 4 GB of Switch 1.
Games are extremely RAM hungry right now and part of the reason Switch 2 can handle games like Star Wars Outlaws is the huge increase in RAM for the system.

... reinvent itself.
A definitive bad ending that permanently tarnishes the show would be very difficult similar to soap operas or Bond.
A new doctor wipes the slate clean and an bad ending for one doctor is not a bad ending for them all.
Other shows don't have that out I feel they are locked in.

I 100% get you, I am also a lapsed Doctor Who fan too, I fell of the show during Whittaker's run. It was really rough from what I watched which was a shame. I'll likely catch up if I hear a season is particularly strong.
I do think Dr. Who benefits from being a show that constantly gets to...

I mean a core part of these games are the characters and their relationships. Sky is the only one with the psuedo incest. Sky 3rd, Zero and Azure would have similar things but it would be a coworker romance or a bromance.
Later games get into persona like bonding events.

It is wild how important an ending is to the legacy of a show.
As a lapsed fan of MHA, I decided to finish the show off this xmas and ultimately ended up enjoying the ending despite MHA's shortcomings.
While GoT a show I spent the better part of a decade loving I can't even bare to think about.

I've beat all of the games. It is just a badly balanced fight.
They tried to recreate the originals difficulty and overstepped the mark.
I doubt you would run into anything that difficult past that point.
Trails is generally an easy rpg series on the normal difficulty outside of freak occurrences.

I think in some of the gameplay they showed the game dropped to sub 30 fps when Bond shot an explosive barrel.
They probably need to optimise the game unless they want a Rise situation on their hands.

Weird weekend, huh? Took a crack at breaking down the whole Clair Obscur genAI situation, and its bizarre fallout, as best as possible. My main takeaway right now is that people really need to figure out exactly what they're criticizing or it's going to get messy. www.polygon.com/clair-obscur...
The debate over gen AI in games is about to get a lot messier in 2026

this is a good article that I ultimately agree with but "casual critics need to understand the thing they're criticizing" is never going to happen

it is too easy to make a drive by tweet talking shit about whatever, you are never going to get nuance and understand from "casual critics"

That said I still feel grace is required. It is very common for devs big and small to jump on the new tech hype fad without considering ethical concerns and the true test is usually how they respond to it.
My hope is they cut it out of there development process.
Only time will tell though.
December 22, 2025 at 5:00 PM
Oh, I think your right and that is a reasonable outlook on what happened but also that genAI use was know back around the games launch and only a french outlet questioned them on it.
I want to know why much of game media (english language) failed to meet the moment and confront them.
December 22, 2025 at 5:00 PM
What exactly does that achieve. The point is to get them to change. Therefore you do give them grace and make the problem with their work clear under good faith they hear the message and change.

If they continue to use the technology THEN you treat them like the devil.

While I love e33 this is probably a very good thing.

It is the double edge sword of boycotting it. A lot of critics that would have given it more critical eye sat it out for valid and commendable reasons.
I think personally I would prefer if critics review morally questionable media as long as it informs the review.
That said not everyone agrees.

This is a good line if I didn't know your party was throwing the LGBTQ+ community under the bus.
To be clear as a B we can all see what you are doing to the T's.
I voted for your party since I was able to vote and I am now done with you.
