Always admire Set Studio’s integrity and the way Piccalilli pays it forward to the community. Show them some love this Black Friday 💛
A bit of a vulnerable post by me but we need your help to get us through what has been a more difficult period than 2020.

It would be really appreciated if you could read and share in your networks too 💛

It’s been a very hard year - Andy Bell
Unlike a lot of places in tech, my company, Set Studio/Piccalilli has no outside funding. Bootstrapped is what the LinkedIn people say, I think. It’s been a hard year this year. A very hard year...

If you’re after accessibility training, this is the one to do. Our engineers ran it as a group session, watching a section each week, then coming together to discuss. Incredible value for the amount of content packed in #a11y
📣 Hear hear! The biggest savings on the Practical Accessibility course start *today*—for a limited time only.

Starting today, you can get the course for 30% off — that's $279 instead of $399. The discounted price excludes sales tax that may be applied depending on where you are buying from.

Really enjoyed this post by @gerireid.com

It felt accurate for what I've experienced from designers coming to me with specs written by AI.

Designers may learn what they should include, but the specs tend to lack the contextual awareness or accuracy required.

Can AI write accessibility specs?
I wrote a prompt to help me write accessibility specs for components. Then had an existential crisis.

Some great advice from kind people in this thread on how to stay positive in winter ❄️
Like many neurodivergent people, I struggle at this time of year when it gets dark and cold. Does anyone have stuff that helps them they recommend? I try to trick my brain by finding joy in blankets, candles, books and cozy things. It sort of helps but my mental health still declines every winter.

AS IF I snuck this episode of Systems of Harm out yesterday without posting about it - but 90% of the design systems community was at Converge.

This week’s guest is none other than @bradfrost.com (‼️) talking about design systems and ADHD.

My favourite talk this year, the way @katiefenn.bsky.social breaks down the explainer is just masterclass (plus you get to dance to Daft Punk at the end). More please!
Hey #WDC2025, if you want a talk to watch on the way home, my talk from @heypresents.com was published today!

I make some Daft Punk with a MIDI controller and a web browser.
Not only that, but we managed to interrupt a movie playing in the screen next door with the volume of the demo. It certainly woke us all up before heading off to the social. It sounded incredible! Watch the talk and find out more here:

I'm really interested to hear devs' thoughts on this – When interviewing, do you prefer Live Coding or Take Home tests?

I've made a poll on Reddit, which would be great if you could respond to, but I'd love to hear any thoughts on here too!

Working on tokenised design systems I got to a point where it was quicker to spec out components in text. Making your design specs machine-readable means you can query them. I've recently started to annotate accessibility semantics like this. @nathanacurtis.bsky.social is ahead of the game as usual!
