OK, here we go again... Will this turn into a hellsite like the other place? How long before I get a creepy message? Will I get plagued with mansplainers? Here's hoping that none of that happens and this becomes a constructive place on the internet.

- £7 pints vs cheaper supermarket booze
- Pubs not adapting to changing tastes/more people preferring low/no-alcohol drinks
- Public transport issues
- Safety concerns surrounding pub culture
- Pubs probably look really boring to a lot of young people
- Pub-after-work less of a thing since Covid...
Pub industry folk: What do you make of this?

I'm sure it's not unwelcome but will it make much difference?

My impression is that you're struggling to fill space until 10pm, let alone 1am.

Looking for UK-based accountants again! This time, I'm looking for accountants to comment on recruitment and whether they are struggling to hire the right talent. DM me for more information. MUST BE UK-BASED ACCOUNTANTS! Also, must be accountants working as accountants... #journorequest
And I've just messaged you again about something else I'm working on!
Yep, I know I probably need to be more active in here to get more followers, but I've had literally zero response every time I've used the hashtag in here. The thing is I'm not sure if I have the same time or energy as I did in the early days of Twitter. I'm hardly ever in there either nowadays.
Still looking for accountants! This place doesn't seem to be great for #journorequest posts. Honestly, that is now the only reason I keep my wretched Twitter account active. I really hope things improve in here on the #journorequest hashtag.
Looking for commentary from accountants on how Companies House changes are affecting your services. MUST BE UK-BASED ACCOUNTANTS! Deadline is 8 October. DM me for more information. #journorequest

50 years ago... Spike Milligan organises a benefit for Women's Aid to help victims of domestic violence.

He did so much behind the scenes to help make the world a slightly better place.
We got lazy and added a transfer to the booking. We're doing our own thing for the rest of the trip.
Further to this post, if there's a full transfer bus of people who want to start their holiday, you do not stand right near the bus door and light a cigarette. Your addiction does not trump our desire to check into our hotels and get some sun. People are the worst.
Dear people on holiday in Mallorca today,

If the transfer bus is waiting for you, do not go to McDonald's. Go directly to the bloody bus. You're holding us all up, it's rude and your food is making the bus smell.

Thank you for your cooperation,

Georgia

The level of ignorance about indefinite leave to remain and how expensive and bureaucratic it is to obtain ILTR is off the chain on the interwebs today. Not to mention people nodding along to Farage as he seeks to deny the pension from people who paid into the system for years. Risible stuff.
This thread is important and heartbreaking. Solidarity with Alex.
I need you to understand what this country feels like right now for those of us who look different. I'm sitting here, trying to plan for Saturday, make sure I don't even need to go to the corner shop for milk, like it's Christmas Day or lockdown. Why? Because I live near where Yaxley-Lennon will 1/

What I infer from Jeffrey Epstein's "birthday book" is not that most of his eminent friends were conspiring with him to traffic and exploit underage girls, but that almost all of them knew exactly what he was doing and considered it an endearing quirk. Which is not a whole lot better.
@lner.co.uk I love your TV ads. Very cute. But do you know what would be REALLY cute? If the WiFi on the 10:45 to Edinburgh via Newcastle actually worked...
All the joys of trying to get some damn work done on appalling train WiFi. Why is this so hard here?

Does anyone know anything about UPS in the UK, specifically where their UK clearance facility is for London deliveries and whether we can just go there ourselves and pick up packages that have been stuck there since May and were needed last week? Anyone?????
I was working across the road from the Canary Wharf Britannia on Thurs & Fri and I'm back tomorrow. It was quiet around the hotel, apart from a few security guards last week. But lots of flags on lamp posts and vandalised zebra crossings. I bet that wasn't done by people who actually live there.
Yep, see also Oxford Street in Sydney. One night in the loo at the Stonewall, a drag queen picked me up, sat me on the sinks and fixed my makeup for me! Best trip to the toilet ever!
