Tried Bahnstormers but can't get thorough. Munich Legends, have their own stockpile but no windscreens. They get their parts from BMW UK or Germany. Funnily enough, its easier to get a windscreen for a 02 or E24, as opposed to a E12.

Contacted them earlier and left my details

Scrambled through different glass companies and no one can has the glass in the UK. Pilkington is on special order only and BMW says none exist in stock, not even in Germany. Solution? Either get a second hand one from a breaker in the midlands or order from Walloth Nesch in Germany.

Bad news.
Auto windscreens just called me to say the windscreen is actually no longer available from their suppliers and they can't complete the job, and therefore has to be cancelled. Furious is an understatement and now everything is back to square one.

Good news!
After yesterday's post about the struggles with the E12, I'm happy to say that I have now a date set to have it welded and it should be ready next weekend. Also, the windscreen company called me today to inform they found a glass for my car and are ready to fit it in a couple of weeks!

They told me I could use a non-approved supplier and they can cover up to £300, but after I add all the costs, I might as well get it from a scrapper and fit it myself

I raised a complaint with Autowindscreens. Spoke with Lancaster insurance who is brushing off any responsibility and putting responsibility on Autowindscreens. I argued back about Lancaster's duty, but got nowhere. I won't be renewing with them and the policy is due next month.

I'm actually fucked off because they called me Friday to say they found one and i asked them to wait a couple of days for me to confirm a date. They called me this morning to confirm the fitting for Thursday the 23rd & paid the fee online. An hour later called me to say they haven't got it! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Cheers, good to know. Yes, they're not worth much and not that rare or sought after.

I have a few albums to sell. Do you recommend Discogs?

I remember watching a TV documentary donkeys years ago (tomorrow's world?) about the development of a two stroke engine for this car and being hailed the future of combustion engines? It featured a dark coloured Mk3 Fiesta

Has anyone done a DIY dash repair? I've seen YT videos but looking for more ideas and tips on how to make this dash look a bit better.
I know the crack edges need drilling, but unsure regarding filler, plastic or PU sealant? Plastic paint or vinyl paint?
Thanks in advance

Dash is out. Not a hard job but easier ti do with the windscreen out. Loads of broken glass found as expected and more evidence of rodents in the past with loads of empty acorns and gnawing marks under the dash.
Ready for welding this coming week

Yes, it's normal when the engine is running in. Yes, valve stem seals could also be an issue
