Tomorrow Joe is picking up a carpet cleaner machine on rental for the day to clean all the carpets. Thursday a professional cleaner friend of his is coming to do a deep clean.

Then shelves back up, couple of pictures back up, set dressing & ready for sale photos.

Well that’s sorted at least! Matt scrubbed the mould with special mould killer (it stank, had to have all windows open & extractors on & 2 doors closed between this & mice at all times). Then I scraped off damp/flaking paint. Then Joe upstairs & his step dad spent last 2 days painting everything.

we don't even have a landline but I can't bear to part with it, it's such a memorable bit of my childhood. Mum let me have it. I did use it for years when I did have a landline though.

we had dials as well, but in Oman in the early 80s we had a keypad one, I still have it, it's how I learned to read numbers in Arabic (rather than "arabic" numbers haha)

*Just realised on this keypad it was UP the left side then 0

I am that old. Childhood phone number was super easy though: 7410: straight line down the left side of the keypad. I only memorised often-used numbers though due to dyscalculia, Otherwise I kept a clever roll-up retractable phone number list on my keyring that resembled a roll of camera film.

I vividly remember the phone number we had in the 1980s when I was a small kid, because it was 7410 - which was a straight line down the left side of the keypad.

And yes, we memorised some numbers by rote - hard for someone with dyscalculia so I mostly used a tiny list on my keyring.
