I haven't been able to write anything analyzing Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers beyond some stuff about Bridget, but one thing I think a lot about is Sins direction in it which I think ppl rly sleep on, so I yapped about that + future predictions ft. Happy Chaos and Unika (1/2)

I so badly wanna just become the Bridget characterization police every time someone says something ignorant about her and spreads it around I just wanna be so annoying but unfortunately I also care about what people think of me too much

Incidents like these are also why the Guilty Gear fandom needs to avoid Gear Project like the plague

Really the development of any fandom requires pushing the fascists away as hard as possible, all they ever know to do is stifle progress in any capacity

And if you question that notion then I ask why are some people so eager to flanderize her and make her out as weak? There's never been canonical basis to say she's that simple or that she's weak, she's always been multifaceted and strong, where do those ideas come from?

This applies to not only her themes but her characterization and strength which a lot of people simpify and downplay but they're obviously important parts of her. Also dare I say internalized misogyny and transphobia plays a role in this phenomenon more often than you'd think...

This might sound egotistical but I don't think a lot of people understand her as well as they think they do and that makes me sad, I see it lead to a lot of ppl reducing many aspects of her and then ppl basing their assumptions on her based on that instead of the source material

If people thought less about the events themselves and more about what they mean for her emotional journey they'd realize how fantastically written she is, usually the ppl I see call her bad rep are missing the forest for the trees.

Maybe my favorite thing about Bridget is how her story's scenario is so unique and not rly anything like a common trans experience and yet its themes still connect amazingly to that experience, I don't think I'd like it quite as much if it was more realistic to a normal scenerio.
