Despite drawbacks, several good points here: (1) Dundee University is genuinely fighting for its life; (2) some uni management teams in some unis are out of control; (3) the multiple UK govts don't even have a clue what's going on, no controls and no plan... (1/2) www.thetimes.com/uk/scotland/...
Nigeria currency crisis leaves Dundee University fighting to survive
Profuse spending left the institution ill-prepared for a sharp drop in foreign students after Nigeria, a fertile recruiting ground, devalued its currency

and yet I don't quite believe in the night, While I do believe in bringing that bottle over here

There's more than one way to tell

Are there ideas without people and events, and can events exists without people and ideas? And we need to think about people and what they do. We need a dialectical approach

Great voice and songs too
Another great artist has left us. Among many remarkable accomplishments in an often wayward but always luminous career, Marianne Faithfull gave us one of the finest, cleverest, brightest, darkest, most heartbreaking Ophelias of her generation. Sweets to the sweet. Farewell.

Being truthful about thigs matters, and when the dust settles, and there will be a lot of dust, what you have said will continue to matter

Gramsci's always worth reading, and now, more than ever!
Gramsci’s first sentence here, heard in our time, is bound to seem extremely demanding but it’s also, I think, highly apt

We really enjoyed editing this book. A wonderful set of contributors, all with something to say. Some know Bob some know the songs, some know this and that along the way. Well worth reading, buying or stealing

Terrific that Chalamet went for offbeat songs of Dylan, Really great to hear 3 Angels sounding interesting. Let's hear, Something's Burning' next

Why ironic? It’s wonderful. Letters mean a lot

Thanks for sharing. Always difficult to know how to respond to problematic criticism
I was giving my daughter a bath & she asked why I seemed sad. I told her I published a piece of writing & people were reaching out to me with notes about it & some were nice but some were really mean.

she paused & then responded, “can’t you just keep the nice notes & throw the rest away?”

You never know whom you have in your class, so let's all try as hard as we can
Wonderful recollection of Bob Dylan learning folk music in a group class. Plus really great photo!
