Spent about ~30 minutes on an annoyingly squeaky/creaky foot.
Re-did some screws with fresh Loctite. Added some teflon lubricant on the plastic bits. WD-40’d a couple of spots. Swapped out my sleeve for a new one.
Every step feels ~30% better now.
If only it was that easy for real body parts.

Perfect storm of events and timing sucked the excitement and enjoyment out of sharing for me this last year.
Really appreciate all the folks out there sharing and lighting/stoking the fire. It requires so much time and effort share your curiosity, learning, and excitement, but it’s so contagious.

Just slayed the API endpoint performance for flipper cloud. Added memcached around the adapter used to deliver gate data.
Should save me $2-3k/month.

Stumbled across “azimuthal equidistant projection” maps, and they’re fascinating both from a geographic standpoint and from the way they show how looking at the same information with a different perspective/context can drastically impact how we perceive something.

We had our final game of the season last night. Coaching has consumed every spare moment and emotion and not always been convenient or easy, but it’s enjoyable beyond belief.
Looking forward to a less hectic schedule for a while, but still going to miss it something fierce until next season.

How it’s going right after the last two weeks had felt like Spring was already here.
And it’s wet and heavy snow with more in its way. Crummy time to be sick and struggling and miss out on a pow day.

I can take that off your plate.
I'm still looking to book one more client for the spring. Send me a dm and we can talk about what that'd look like.

Instead of React as the new Flash, the pace of CSS improvements is making a case that JavaScript in general might be the new Flash.
It doesn't seem wild to imagine that ten years from now, sites could still provide most of the same functionality while barely needing JavaScript at all.

My software development philosophy:
1. Minimize external dependencies.
2. Actively upgrade dependencies.
"Dependency" is just another word for "save a little time now in order to permanently increase your workload by committing to monitor changes and responsibly update it in perpetuity."
