@authoremmabarry.bsky.social Super annoyed. My final paper in a course was docked 5% basically b/c I used semicolons correctly & didn't have enough 'sentences' in some paragraphs. Are we seriously counting the periods in a paragraph in grad school? (Yes, I am that student; no, I didn't email them.)

My kids LOVED this series and this book. (I'm also from the MTN West, and I know Deseret Book and its demographic well, so not surprised).
This has been a really rough few days. I recently learned of a controversy around our book THE PRINCESS IN BLACK AND THE PRINCE IN PINK. Some were outraged that Deseret Book carried it (a chain of bookstores in the west). Deseret Book appears to have complied to their demands and removed it. 1/

My kids LOVED this series and this book. (I'm also from the MTN West, and I know Deseret Book and its demographic well, so not surprised).
So my day started by spilling jelly on my clothes but not noticing until I was driving and it had somehow transferred from my clothes onto the steering wheel.

So not only did my 10yo just beat me at chess (not unusual) but it took me way too long to realize the kid was toying with me as a way to delay bedtime...silly me, thinking I was actually giving the kid a challenge.
