People no longer understand what "patriotism" means when it's nothing more than a marketing buzzword for every "Patriot Burger/Gun Holster/Gutter Co." to imply "we're American, we're the best" to shill products to right wingers. Patriotism isn't about "being the best" - never has been.

An experiment for leftists - tie one end of a rope to a tree then go to the other end and draw the rope towards you. Move closer to the tree or at the very end of the rope, it doesn't matter, because unless you untie the rope it's not going to move in your direction. That's how democracy works.

American democracy is binary because first past the post elections are polar; a loss on one side is the same as a win on the other. There is no justice without accountability. Republicans condemned J6 then were too cowardly to hold Trump accountable, and that is what has led us to today, because without accountability there was no crime.
