We, the mortals, touch the metals,
the wind, the ocean shores, the stones,
knowing they will go on, inert or burning,
and I was discovering, naming all these things:
it was my destiny to love and say goodbye.

Really children should have a legal representative to advocate for their views and a guardian for their best interests, so this is an abrogation of the minimum obligation.

‘They remind us that justice is not abstract: it is built on the courage of individuals who are willing to speak truth to power.’
The Hague: UN Special Rapporteur Tom Andrews hails the tenacity of #Rohingya survivors and those who worked tirelessly to make their voices heard, as oral arguments conclude in the landmark genocide case brought by the Gambia to the ICJ.

Another spectacle of justice…
It also really doesn't address any of the issues like image abuse; recommender algorithms and much more besides.

But it's so palatable politically because it's easy to understand as a "we care" option.

Spring is on the way (despite the storms!), so we thought we’d re-share Moya Cannon’s ‘A Song at Imbolc’ from our 2021 issue:

“It’s our blood and bones
And these whistles and phones
Against Miller and Noem’s dirty lies”
I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

In the words of Justice Sotomayor, the prospect of statelessness "hangs like a guillotine" over the birthright citizenship litigation. In the aftermath of D.H.S v. D.V.D, stateless persons are at increased risk of deportation to unrelated third countries.

Trump v. CASA and the Risk of Statelessness

DuckDuckGo is good but so too are European based browsers Vivaldi and Qwant.
Time to switch to DuckDuckGo if you haven’t already. They have an AI mode, but for now at least, it’s easy to disable.

Don’t just read about ICE detention centres. Read about American Indian Boarding Schools. See how far back the history of separating children from their families goes. Rounding up ‘un-American’ kids and subjecting them to abuse and cultural eradication is baked into the history of the USA.
